Ladies and Gentlemen, and those of you who are somewhere in between(and you know who you are!) Make sure your tray tables and seat-backs are in an upright and locked position because you are number one for take off! Next stop, the Cable Zone!
attachment.jpg

Those of us in the "know" really understand just how effective cable lifters can be to our systems. So what do you do when you are already completely satisfied with your set-up? You tweek, and tweek some more. Because we all know, In this world you better get busy tweekin' or get busy dyin'. I recently spent around 4600 dollars on some "Audio Grade" Cable Lifters. These were not just your ordinary cable lifters, they were a ancient Chinese Ceramic that had been infused with moon dust. At first listen I was overwhelmed by the difference! Voices were expressed with a clarity I had never heard before, the midrange was tightened, velvety, and bass was much more tactile like it had been brushed with a fine tooth comb. All in all, I was more than satisfied with my investment.

The 1A's and Michael were in agreement! They wanted more! So I gave it to them!

While cooking some pasta the other night I could not stop thinking about how great these lifters were. "Who cares about science," I thought, I could hear a difference and thats all that matters. While poring the sauce on my pasta the gears and my brain went into overdrive! So I quickly turned the jar to see the ingredients, and thats when it all came together. The Lable read just as I suspected:

Organic Tomatoes
Organic Portabello Mushrooms
Organic Soybean Oil
Organ Garlic Powder
Organ Onions
Etc...

This had to be the reason for the delicious taste. So I decided to enjoy my pasta while listening to my Polks in the other room, and that's when I made the connection. As Audio enthusiasts we are always trying to fine to our systems to make them like the real thing, an Organic Sound! Startled, I ran back into the kitchen knowing I was on to something. I looked around the cupboards high and low, nothing. I opened the refrigerator and the solution was right under my nose, in the vegetable drawer actually! So I ran back to the living room and fashioned up this little experiment...

Tools/ingredients(Hehe):
IMG_0205.jpg
IMG_0206.jpg

1. One pair of "Audio Grade" Cable lifters
2. 5 Red Ripe Tomatoes

In this application I choose to use the Audio Grade lifters as to not contaminate the wires with static or perspiration from my hands. Here is what I came up with:

IMG_0208.jpg

Listening Material For Comparison:

1. Manhattan Transfer "Operator" with Michael Brecker
2. The Beavis and Butthead Experience "Come to Butthead"

Results.. One word, Amazing!

On Mahattan Transfer, Michael's lyrical solos were transformed with clearer articulation, a more robust tonal center and overall greater clarity. Imaging was "heavier" with much more separation between instruments. Bass was also quick, light and mobile like a stone skipping across a pond.

Summary

In short you can bet that I will be getting my refund on the 4600 dollars lifters. I would suggest that everyone get out to your local farmer's market and pick up some of these babies if you really want to take you listening experience to that next level!

Hey DK, see other people can do CABLE STUDIES part 18B.

He goes on and on just like you do but he has no oscilliscope photos like you do in your papers to verify this crap. You should review this paper for accuracy the truth.

    What say you DK?

Me I like to hang my speaker cables from the ceiling because the capacitance is more stable and flowing. The problem is when the air conditioning comes on and the wires move a little and the phase shifts 21 to -14 degree. Those EE's know how that effects the sound stage. **** even a good **** can change the phase factor of the wire hangers.

When some one makes a mockery of EE science as applied to audio maybe it should also be deleted.

I thought you had a good sense of humor, now I wonder.

Please explain to me how a fuse, which is only resistive, can reduce electrical noise?

Anything, please to explain this observation from some ones ears only.

Tell the truth hearing did you buy the fuses?

What makes you think he is mocking someone? You need to have an open mind, and try it for yourself. That's the only way you will know if there is a difference.

And of course, not everyone will be able to hear the improvement, especially if their system isn't revealing enough.

I think this is a joke based on paying $4600 for some cable lifters. There may be some minor differences when using cable lifters.... but personally, i'd just use some shot glasses.

Everyone is way too serious in this thread.

Tennis balls are were it's at if you want consistancy and longterm reliability void of the deterioration effects(rotting) of veggies. As for brand I rather fancy the Slazengers for their roundish sound staging.

Question: Did the acid content of the tomatos cause the speakers to sound bright?
I was thinking a potato might make them sound more laid back?

It did actually, maybe I will do more tests with different fruits and veggies. Let's hear some suggestions.

Your writing, photography and analytical skills have a very looooooooooooong way to go to set the same standard as DK's. I'd say take a few rudimentary English classes and a photography class or two. Practice writing for family members and then come back in about a year and revisit this study and add some professionalism to this discourse.

No way to tennis balls! The fuzz disipates the floor interaction characteristics too much plus the dog is always picking them up wanting to play fetch. What you want is blue dot squash balls. Not the yellow dots they are too soft and cause you to loose to much high end articulation. Get the blue dots and hear female voices come to life.
