Right -- and I'm not saying that it was in response to mine IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE...I KNOW he threw the "review" up before I did, but his TITLE was an attempt to mock and otherwise poke fun at what I was providing in other threads.

Here is a good example, people, of what the mods and others have been trying to nail into some members' heads, apparently with no luck: Ricardo just can't stay out of my threads unless it's to engage in some sarcastic, offrailing flame baiting which is so counter productive he hopes it will steer readers away from the point of the thread itself: TO DISCUSS A FILM RELEASE ON HOME VIDEO.

Mike, difficult to stay out of a thread that starts calling us smartasses. If that's the way you're trying to make your way here, I don't think it's going to work,.

Mike, Cmon man, Honestly, what I thought about your previous reviews were very professional movie reviews, at no point did I jump in and call you any names. You can think whatever you want, but you dont own "rights" to movie reviews. Now, you can call me childish names if it makes you feel better, Im not going their.

    David

    David,

What on God's Green Earth are you talking about? When did I EVER even submit or hint at the fact that I OWN the rights to movie reviews? That's NOT what I am saying -- I am saying it is CHILDISH -- the word you just used above -- to title your threads with "AN UNPROFESSIONAL REVIEW..." just because you KNOW this has been the center of controversey and issues here with me in the past. That's just not funny, or cool; you can write whatever you want, as I said, it's not about who writes what for the site -- we can all post our threads about each film. But how you TITLED your thread wasn't necessary. That's ALL I am saying. I took the "PRO REVIEW" moniker out of my threads because it was pissing people off in here; can't everyone just stop with the poking now?

A plot analysis/synopsis discussion should come before a "summary," wouldn't you say? The word itself means to bring together all that has come BEFORE it, don't cha think?

Well, synopsis is helpful if you are luring the audience towards renting or buying a movie. In short, it's what BlockBuster / NetFlix and Telecasting companies do to make you interest in the movie.

For a real review, a down to earth Summary from a natural critique is as good as it's gets to either watch it or to avoid it.

I'm not going to entertain any of this with you -- you know EXACTLY why that comment was made in my title. It wasn't to call anyone here a smartass who hadn't already begun the fight by titling their thread an "un professional review."

I'm talking about the beginning of the reviews in which I indicated it was "professional" under the specifications listing.

Your reference has nothing to do with what I was talking about.

Yes. That is correct. You're overreacting is calling way more attention to it than a little mocking. It may be disrespectful, but again, you're just creating more enemies by ranting and raving about it EVERY time. You write a fine review, obviously not everyone likes it and are going to rag on your for it; time to be the adult and ignore it.

No, sorry; it seems to me someone who takes the time to sit down and throw up a "mock thread" because they think it's funny is just plain bogged down with nothing else to do. Apparently, I was not alone in my thoughts because the thread was locked.

This doesn't make sense to me -- you suggest I be the adult and ignore all this, but there's NO course of action for those who begin the problems?

I'm not supporting anything here other than telling everyone to grow up and stop being so serious.
Jesus Christ on the F%^&*ing Cross...

People, look: We can have two threads begun of the same film -- that's absolutely no problem. Some have different takes than others. That's no problem. I just want the nonsense of these little "pot shots" stopped because it's cruel and not in the spirit of the hobbyists we are -- I always make it a point to clarify that what I am writing is in NO way a stab or discredit attempt to the original poster of a title discussion. I simply share my own thoughts in my own ways through my reviews on a film, and wish it would simply be "left alone" for lack of a better term. You don't want to read them or comment on them? Fine. There's NO problem with that; just please don't mock or poke fun at someone's style or intent. I am NOT doing that to anyone else when they post a thread about a film UNLESS it is in defense of what has been done to me, as I have done here.

Thank you; can we move on with discussing the film?

You're preaching to the choir here, bud.

There is a style to doing these; a correct method of breakdown and approach, with a technical analysis at the closing on the specs of the discs. If you don't like this, that is absolutely okay -- just please don't derail the threads.

Well, it was in response to your statements and reply, but aimed in general at the board and those participating in the thread.

Why would I be "preaching to the choir"? I'm asking to get the thread back on track and discuss the film -- like an "adult" and per suggestions that we begin to act in kind.

Congratulations; but my point is that you never would have begun those threads with those titles if there wasn't a REASON to, such as mocking those of mine which previously had "professional" stapled to them -- now that I have eliminated that reference, I would appreciate if all hostilities and nonsense would just end.

You're preaching to the choir if it was directed towards me. I've really yet to disagree with you or call you out on anything besides getting somewhat butthurt. And as i pointed out, you're not alone there.

But yes..... back to the film.

I'll write a short synopsis of it tomorrow morning. I'll be watching on a 2-channel setup, though.

I mean if you are thinking like an adult, why would you put "Smartasses Rejoice" in the thread title? I would just skip this thread and wouldn't even be bothered with any film review if you don't put very un-adult-like thread title in the first place.

Are you insulting the whole mass here with this crappy title? I think it's time you rethink about how to rename your future reviews.

Mike, you have one of two choices:

1.-Recognize that you started off with the wrong foot coming here with a pretentious attitude and trying to justify every word from the top of your ego. Continue posting your reviews, and time will erase everything.

2.-Keep up the controversial attitude, with titles like this one. It will go on and on.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Knuck,

Please learn to spell. And I'll work on a better method of getting the point across; sometimes there just is no better way.
