Well, last night I noticed some distortion coming out of the right channel of my Yamaha RXV2600. I have a carver TFM25 hooked up and when no signal(music) was going to the amp the right channel signal meter would fluctuate wildly.Left channel did not move.Putting my ear up to my right channel speaker I could here some distortion. Swapped speakers cables and it moved to the other speaker so still coming out of right preamp out. Took the amp out of the loop and hooked my speakers right to the receiver. Still had noise coming out of the right front speaker. Swapped speaker cables and it still stayed with the right front channel. When I am playing music the signal needles of the amp move fine but when idle the right channel is all over the place. Appears that the problem is with the right channel preamp of my receiver. Anyone know of anyone who repairs Yamaha receivers?:(

That bites:mad:That's not that old of a unit. I'm assuming it is out of the 2 year warranty, anyway here is a number to find authorized repair depots.
1-800-4 YAMAHA. You may also try your local Yellow pages for repair shops and call them to see if they handle Yamaha.
