Well, it's a bit different you see. Polkfest and Carverfest are grass roots type of social events. Ones where no attendees will be eligible for deep, absolutely CRAZY discounts on buying gear during the Fest.

If you can't tell the difference between a social event and a sales promotion event, well.......

Actually, since they are still considered an upstart company,(less than 10 employees, I believe) how much more grass-roots can you get? The idea for a meet was originated by members of their forum, not the company.

IIRC, the idea for having gear available, originated from forum members as well. The company obliged, and offered discounts to those who actually make the trek to the sticks of Tennessee. By all means, assume what you want.

Carverfest and Polkfest are put on by individuals not companies. If I could I would go to Emofest, there a bunch of great people and yes I have meet some of them.

    I already gave two examples.
    Amp: Emotiva XPA-5

    Ah, that explains a lot.

I'm waiting for Emotiva to come out with a turntable so that I may properly spin my 45's.

    Ah, that explains a lot.

Like I said, assume whatever you want.
You'll be very hard pressed to find a 'fanboy' post from me. Nice try.
Look, I pointed out hypocrisy on your part. Justify it however you want, or don't.
I hate Japanese cars, but I don't jump in and rip 'em to shreds every time someone posts positively about them.

Out of curiosity, did someone drop an Emo amp on your cat or something?

You are right sir,, the only fest that I've been to was back in the day, at Mr. Yasgurs' farm. Rock on. ;)

IIRC...you were at GA Polkfest 07. How quickly they forget...or are you too old to remember George? ;)

You seem to be grasping. Much like your analogy, your claim of hypocrisy on my part is highly flawed and down right erroneous.

Obviously, you've never met my cat. She'd eat that Emo amp. :D

Wow, not my intention when I started this thread, lol. What is it about Emotiva and speaker wire threads that get people all stirred up, apoligies Jesse, didn't mean to start another bashing thread. Thanks to the guys who stuck up for me though, I appreciate it. Was just trying to get the word out to anybody who may have cared. That tag was kinda silly though, Jesse was just sticking up for what is in best intrest (and is also in mine) and that is POLK!! I think I'll just stick to starting Birthday threads from now on, lol. :D

The idea behind the tag feature is solid. It is a shame that a few spineless individuals abuse it. They certainly reflect poorly on CP as a whole.

Jeff, no problems here and no need to apologize. I simply had a different opinion, right or wrong.

I did the same thing accidentally asking for Adcom Emotiva comparisons... quickly degraded into a flame war.

I don't see where there was "hypocrisy," F1 was simply stating in the thread you posted that he had a good time at Carverfest.

Well personally for me the name Emotiva simply isnt manly enough for me to own one of there amps irregardless of how good they may or may not be. When someone would ask you what amp are you using having to blurt out Emotiva makes me cringe at the prospect of this :p

Other than that I dont see a problem with posting about a get together for an amp company on a speaker based forum now if it was a get together for a competing speaker company then yes it would be in poor taste.

    Just my 2 cents

    REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Thats the kinda **** that keeps giving Emotiva a bad name. Cause you know it's an EmoFanBoy that put it up there.

I own 2 amps By Emotiva. and F1 and everybody else here has a right to their opinon, "respect it"

If your going to post a tag like that post it with your name, and don't be such a "****".

You should be able to run your cursor over the tag and on the bottom of the page see the tagger included in the link. Sure it will add the taggers threads to the tag results , big deal...you get the results of why you pressed the tag in the first place and get to see who put it there in the first place.

But seriously, how **** do you have to be to not want to be identified with your tag ? You already have the internet as your buffer between human contact, now you want to remain anonymous ?? Thats like 2 levels of **** :D

Its bad enough having to listen to just one level of ****, people spew words in threads they would never say if we were physically sitting in a real forum together. So truely, just take the tags for their true worth....if they send you to a thread you want to read great....if some coward posts something in there...just remember how much they risked putting it there...it can only make you smile. :)
