Just saw this on their website, not gonna be as much fun as PolkFest '09 (wish I could go) but know we have alot of Emotiva fans here.

Make plans now to attend 'Emofest 2009' at our main offices in lovely Franklin, TN, September 5th and 6th, 2009!
We'll have food, live music, equipment demos and more! The invitation is open to all customers and friends, and entertainment will be provided for children.

Saturday, Sept 5th, 12pm - 4pm - Meet and Greet. Meet fellow Emotiva 'family members' and staff. Refreshments will be served.
Sunday, Sept. 6th 12pm - 8pm - Equipment demos, live music, and a BBQ by 'Chef Dave', Emotiva owner and Country Club chef. We'll have a surprise or two in store, and attendees will be eligible for deep, absolutely CRAZY discounts on buying gear during the Fest. Don't miss out!

To make a reservation, simply email: beth@emotiva.com
List your name, number of attendees, and t-shirt sizes (all attendees will receive an EMOFEST t-shirt). There is no charge for the event.

Want to explore Nashville while you're here? Our offices are about 20 minutes from Nashville. Beth has compiled a short list of things to do and places to see in Nashville, as well as listing hotels they are offering special rates for Emofest attendees. HOTELS/NASHVILLE RECOMMENDATIONS

We hope to see you there!

    Well, from that definition ...

In recent years the popular media have associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angst-ridden.

... it sounds to me much like many of the frustrated Emo owners that think they get treated badly here on CP, maybe some of them even end up being somewhat introverted as a result! I just hope they don't take their Emo devotion too seriously, as also stated in that definition!

The media has also stereotyped it as being associated with depression, self-injury, and suicide.
    Alea jacta est!

Sorry F1, I realize this is Club Polk, just wanted to give people a heads up since there are a fair number of guys here who run Emo's. That's why I posted it here in the Clubhouse and not in a more specific area. :)

If someone is that into their EMO, I'm sure they are a member of that forum. I, for one, do not want someone posting on that forum about our Polkfest, nor do I think it's proper.

I think it's probably because he doesn't like Emotiva products or the company.

I could be thinking of someone else, though.

Either way, who cares? Less than half the threads on these forums are actually about Polk stuff, due to the nature of how a stereo works (gotta have something to drive them speakers, dontcha?), so it seems a little strange to regulate where it's convienient.

Well, it's a bit different you see. Polkfest and Carverfest are grass roots type of social events. Ones where no attendees will be eligible for deep, absolutely CRAZY discounts on buying gear during the Fest.

If you can't tell the difference between a social event and a sales promotion event, well.......

I think if there was just a crazy sale going on, it would be posted, too. There will be a social aspect to this gathering, there has to be considering the circumstances.

It might not be a bunch of the good ol' boys getting drunk and rocking the hell out, swapping gear out the wazoo or anything, but by nature of what it is, there will be socializing.

Thank you! It's all about people with the same kind of gear getting together with members of the company that makes the gear to hang out, meet & greet etc. If they have some selling going on so what. The same is done in a smaller way at PF between the members.

I think it's great either way. Enjoy to anyone that goes.
