These are indeed unusual times. There is a some of a job market for the "relatively" uneducated and unskilled employee. The jobs are generally low wage basic jobs with few benefits and little or no job security or advancement. Many of those jobs are in the service and sales industries and don't require a great deal of training. Server positions in restaurants are considered to be some of the better jobs available...and even those are scarce. It is not easy for even a hardworking couple with a family to make ends meet on even 2 or 3 jobs paying $7 -$10 an hour...if they can find them. Hopefully we will start seeing some improvement in the next 6-12 months.

She's an idiot. Real world gets tougher every single year. It gets more competitive and more college graduates come out. Especially in this economy, businesses need experience, then qualifications.

First of all, let me say, I think your right ;) no real world experience on how to get a job :( However, the sad part is the ambulance chasers who are watching the outcome of this closely

This stupid **** shot herself in the foot. She's flagged herself to every HR mgr. in her field. Anybody this ignorant, is probably a lazy pos, that, once they get their foot in the door, you're gonna end up over supervising, and basically harrasing them to work.
Then you'll have to move heaven and earth to fire her.

This so called college is a few blocks away from my EMS station.
This school was a business institute a few years back servicing the welfare and unemployed
recipients of the south bronx. They built a couple of new buildings in the area and now they call themselves "A College".
The students that go there don't get a real education.

I work for an organization that evaluates education, institutions and faculty for higher education.
Although Monroe College is accredited, It’s not worth 72 grand in debt nor the paper it is printed on.
This graduate could have earn a respected and better quality degree from Lehman College (CUNY) and had about 62 grand left over.
University of Phoenix, Monroe, Kaplan University, etc. are great if you are in a rural environment where travel is an issue, but in a highly competitive job market, I’m sorry to say your Monroe degree is going into the Round Filing Cabinet.
Hell, she could have started at Bronx Community College for about 2k a year, worked hard and earn a scholarship a respectable 4-year accredited institution. The success stories of students going from a community college to a top tier or even Ivy-League are common! I can tell you for a fact that this story is currently being carried on many online educational sites and blogs.
Not only will she loose this frivolous law suit, but she will cast further disparaging sentiments about her alma mater making it more difficult to do anything with her Monroe College diploma.

I have seen 2 interviews with her speaking , in both she refused to show her face...like her name associated with her lawsuit alone wont keep even Burger King from hiring her for fear of litigation.

If one reads this and considers it comes from someone who works evaluating institutions ...

It isn't hard to say that maybe Monroe College *does* deserve to be sued. Maybe they are a total scammy rip-you off institution (as you say, $72k is a total rip off compared to alternatives)

If they prey on people, get them signed up and offer them "easy loans! no one refused!" and charge the crap out of misinformed people for basically a worthless piece of paper.

Thinking of it like that ... hmmm

They m ay deserve to be sued for falsely claiming to provide an education, but that doesn't mean they should be sued for not getting someone a job.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

:D She studied more from the Urban Dictionary , then from the books the school provided. ;)

" They sez they was gonna help wit, and they di'n't "

" You should apply for it, das it "

    1. di'n't
This is the proper spelling of the word "didn't" (a contraction of the phrase "did not"). Everybody whose anybody pronounces "didn't" like "di'n't".
Guy 1: yo man I just poped a cap in yo homie's ****
Guy 2: OH NO YOU DI'N'T

    7. das
    A shortened word for thats
    "das sensational" or
    "das really great"

From what I've read, and when you consider the price I.T.T tech and Devry seem like big rip offs also.
