Let me be the first to wish you a happy birthday. I remember the series well. I believe it was aired on ABC. If you remember, another WWII TV series premiered that same year. The "Galliant Men" It aired for two season from '62 - '63. If I recall, "Combat" was storied on the Japanese warfront, and the "Galliant Men" on the European war. Old timers like Joe, Rich, George, Ted, etc. may remeber more than me.

Richard Boone in "Have Gun Will Travel" was great!

"Combat" was about WWII Europe! How about the newer stuff like "Band of Brothers" series from HBO. Got it on BluRay and have watched it 3 times now.

Thanks for your service to our country. I appreciate your sacrifice at Patriot system. I manged to maintain a college student deferment through 1974, at which time the draft ended. If I wouldn't have got that deferment, I would have probably been in the Navy like my cousins. My daddy was an MP in the Army and he wanted to drag me to the recruiting office when I turned 17. I told daddy that school was my first priority. He spend years in Europe and Korea. He thought he toughened young men. As I'm sure it has it place and certainly gave some of my childhood friends some much needed discipline. It also brought some of my friends home in a box.
