Unexpected ground loop source

Alright, after doing some research I bought a ground fault detector and a low-voltage detector and got to work trying to find the source of the buzzing sound.

One of the tips was to disconnect everything and plug stuff back in to try and isolate the offending component.

I've got a lot of components, but I did find that 2 of the Bose 1801 amps were contributing to the buzz. A couple of cheater plugs solved that problem but there was still a buzz present when the Samsung t.v. was plugged in.

What?? The t.v!!!??? Even when it's OFF!!!!??? Amazingly the Samsung plasma causes a buzzing sound in the speakers even if it is off. I tried plugging the t.v. into a completely different circuit from the sound system and it still does it!

I've read here on the forums that the RG6 coax cable from the cable tv service can sometimes cause noise problems.???

If thats the case, run the coaxial cable through a power conditioner if it has said in/outputs maybe? Mine has ins/outs for that and telephone plugs too, but I just dont use them.

I don't have cable tv service so I don't have a coaxial cable. Very strange, the buzz gets noticeably louder when the t.v. is physically plugged into the wall outlet.

Is the tv....3 prong? There might not be a proper ground at said outlet. Something you can check with a multimeter, and easy to rewire.

Run the TV to a remote outlet with an extension cord. Just something to try.

Btw, if you own a power conditioner and are NOT using the coaxial ins/outs from the wall to your conditioner and then out to your satellite/cable box then youre missing out. Noticeable difference in sound and slightly better picture. There was a faint 'hiss' on several non-hd channels and theyre ALL gone since I decided to hook it up just half an hour ago. Just thought I'd share :D

What model Samsung, have you done a search to see if this is common with that model?

    For example:http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=791737&highlight=samsung+buzz

Is the buzzing coming from the TV or is the TV creating a buzzing in your audio gear?
