Dynamat Extreme

I put some Dynamat Extreme in my 1.2tl's today.
Right now I just did the crossover plates, and the passive driver, and I used RUSH Tom Sawyer for my test.
I am not sure if doing the crossover plates help any, but just doing the passive gave me a much tighter more detailed bass response.
Thanks to F1nut for pushing me to do this sooner then later.
I will do the drivers this week, and see what else I find using the DE.
On another note I found that my stuffing keeps sliding down. Anybody else find this problem with there SDS SRS's?
What can I use to keep this from happening? I thought about using velcro.

Try putting a little glue on it and attaching it to the side of the cabinet.

Do you just cover the speaker baskets, or do you line the inside of cabinet as well? I was thinking of trying this with my LSi's....

Just the baskets. I've seen a spray that might work for the cabinets. -

Sweet! I actually got some Dynamat Extreme, and some Mortite, a couple weeks ago. I haven't installed it yet though. I'm gonna go ahead and do both my 2A's and my Monitor 7A's.

If the whole point of using dynamat on speaker baskets is to damp resonance by adding mass, wouldn't mortite work just as well, besides being a lot cheaper?
-
Considering that Dynamat Extreme is designed for said purpose and Mortite is designed to caulk doors and windows......ya know!?!Political Correctness'.........defined

Other folks have been using Mortite to damp speaker baskets as well with good results, but I don't recall seeing anybody here do it. Maybe I'll just do it just out of curiosity

I'd say you will not have any luck with the mortite staying in place unless you glue or tape it on. It does not have much sticking ability on a flat surface. I have a feeling it would just fall off eventually. The Dynamat will stick really good, and do the job it was intended to do. Go ahead and experiment with the mortite if you want. Mortite is a caulk sealer and won't do much to dampen the speaker baskets. Not only that and just to add what has been said above, if you do try it and find it doesn't work you will have to scrape it all off with a knife and then Dynamat. Why go through all that when you can get the a sheet of Dynamat, for not a lot of money, as it is designed to stick and dampen? -
Mortite would be a "HUGE" waste of time, Just get the Dynamat Extreme..Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

It just takes one sheet for both sets of 1.2? how big was the sheet? I see them on amazon at different sixes.

Hey bub, I when I did my 1.2TLs I had a little left over and I am heavy handed. However I bought the large box of four sheets which possibly the sheets are bigger than the ones that come in lesser amounts. -
Were the sheets you used by any chance this pack on Amazon

Yep! That be it.:) It looks just like the box I have. I'm glad I got the big pack in that Dynamat has so many uses both on gear and speakers as well as noisy household items. -
I was trying to find this locally so I can go over and pick it up this evening and came across this stuff

Its called RBL Products - Xtreme Dyn and is supposed to be the same thing. Anyone heard of this?
