Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

My thoughts go out to you and a prayer goes up to him for you both. Faith will help you both through and miracles are always possible... always.

I remember the day the doc told me I had cancer. It's not easy to take; however, the attitude of those closest to you is extremely important. Please keep a positive attitude. It's as contagious as a smile. Both will become harder to maintain, but ever more necessary as things progress. Good luck to you all.

No, it's not easy to take. I'm having one hell of a time, keeping my **** together. I think she is taking it better than I am. If we were in our 70's, maybe a little easier to take, but 53 is way too young. All the retirment planning in jepardy. Sometimes it makes you want to just live for today, spend what you make, and have a ball. So what if you have to work till you die, you could die tomorrow.....

Don't know her particulars, but if you want a good place to find info or discuss specifics, I like this forum. They may or may not have a forum for your specific disease or condition. Here's a link:

PS - I was 48 on that fateful day almost 3 years ago. The thing I remember the most is my wife's attitude. From the minute we heard to this day she has said we will beat it and overcome the obstacles one at a a time. Attitude is numero uno in this hand some are dealt.

Agreed, a positive and optimistic outlook can be a very important factor. My girlfriend is the chairperson for the local American Cancer Society events, and I have met tons of cancer survivors because of my volunteer involvement (cooking and photography). I know that hearing that kind of news is aweful, my gilfriend's mother ultimately lost the battle, but there is always hope.

Our heartfelt sympathy and hope for a speedy recovery. We lucked out. My wife's recent pathology report came back negative after 2 surgeries and 8 months. It truly is a sobering experience and a monkey wrench thrown into ones life.

    The best of wishes

Thanks for the link. Good to hear about your wife. The thing here, is, this has been going on almost four months unchecked. She had a hernia, so that's what they were treating her for. I'm still hoping for a mairacle.

To be perfectly clear, it is me who was diagnosed with cancer. My point was that my wifes attitiude has made a world of difference in my outlook on all things related to my treatment. The link just happened to be to the breast cancer section of the website. Whatever flavor of cancer you are dealing with may also be found on the HW site. Good luck.

I understand what you are facing, and can offer my Mom as hope. She has faced cancer 5 times in her life, and has beaten them all. Build her spirits and her will to fight and there might be a miracle somewhere in your future. I will be praying for her and your family...

Not very hopefull, it's pancreitis cancer. Thank you for your prayers

My mother beat pancriatic cancer. She lived for about 5 years afterward when something unrelated got her. Her case was exceptionally hard because the cancer was burried in between and around all the organs. There is hope believe it or not.

Keep your chin up. The best you can do to help her is have a positive attitude and maintain hope at all times. Look for a different doctor if you sense a pessimistic attitude. It is amazing how that can influence the outcome.

Will have you and your wife in our prayers.
