My wife and i just talked and we are keeping it for ourselves and will give my daughter monitor 50 for christmas. we are going to order brand new speakers for her xmas. maybe monitor 20...... We will put Rt800i in our library room as 2channel when we buy rti a9 and others for HT. Im gonna test how its performance for HT.

So whatcha think? Its damn nice for 75 dollars. :D Am going to hook up soon and do i need amp since i have onkyo 805? will onkyo drive em fine without harming it? lets hope it powers up and sounds excellent... of course i will have my wife to listen.

NO I DONT MIX LIQUOR WITH PILLS!! maybe i do, i forgot to include the rt800 grill in pic :D
I am 100% BORN DEAF and No I am not kidding! :D Why am I here? My wife's hearing! :p

Very nice...congrats! That's a great price. I've never heard the RT800i's...but I'd imagine they sound very similar to my RTi8's. Some great HT speakers. I don't really care for them too much for music though.

One point though...you might have trouble ordering those Monitor 20's for your daughter...seeing as there is no such thing as a Monitor 20.;)...lol

Of course you need an amp. Just use the amp in your AVR to see if they work.

Either set of terminals will do - just so long as you make sure the jumpers between the HF and LF terminals are installed and snuggly fastened down.

    Great price caligula!!

What exactly do you mean about resetting the Onkyo....do you mean Ohms or the redoing the Audyssey set up?

You do know that you can run analog sources to a second zone with that Onkyo and power the new Speakers that way depending on how much power the HT speakers are sucking up.

PS, I've never seen a pair of KLH speakers that look like that. The name was bought out quite a while back and the KLH reputation went bye-bye!

On the back of the onkyo there are two terminals that allow you to connect a pair of REMOTE speakers that it will power in another room...select Zone 2 on your remote and it will turn that on...then you can select any analog source you have hooked up the Onkyo and play it in that second room in 2 channel--even if the Onkyo itself is powering and running a different source in your main room...

The New speaks should be 6-8 ohms. So yeah, get that ONKYO back to 8 ohms. The 4 ohm setting limits your current and wattage. If you think things are loud at 4 ohms...it will blow you out of your room at 8 ohms where it can excede its 130 watt/channel rating in 2 channel easily! There's a reason it weighs over 50 pounds.

I seem unable to turn it to 8 ohms? maybe i m missing something here... i only see 6 and ill set it at 6.

Onkyo manual is somewhere in the box in garage. i turned volume up to 67db and i can feel bass about 10 feet away from rt800. im impressed... How many db is loudest for you guys??? IM CURIOUS!!

ill try zone 2 since i have some ceiling speakers in the house and porch. Thanks for ur time explaining.
