Whoo hoo, finalizing my Mythos system this week...
Well, I started off debating between LSi's and Paradigms and ended up with Paradigms and Def Tech Mythos.
I went a little nutty on the Mythos and decided to design it as a 7.1 system with Mythos ST paired in front and the rear with some BPVS on the sides. I figured why go small. lol If anyone has been debating or on the fence, let me know if you want to jump in on the order for a fat discount. I am getting a fairly heavy discount, so if your dealer isn't being flexible, let me know. I'm hoping they will have everything in stock within the next week or so for pics.
:):) Big props to Mantis for helping sway my decision with the Pioneer and Mythos.

Nice! I would swap my LSi15s for a pair of Mythos ST, mainly because they look awesome...the 15s are nice though (I would miss the Vifa, but probably not so much for HT, which the STs probably kill in)

The Mythos ST will be setup as the primary HT where as I hope to take advantage of the warm neutral sound of the Paradigms in a stereo setup with pass through capabilities for HT use as well. My downstairs room makes it difficult to find the perfect place for a sub, so the ST are ideal. I am ordering the Super Cube Reference as well, if it doesn't fit downstairs it will compliment the Paradigms elsewhere.

You know Mantis is quite convincing. But I already liked the Pioneer ICE amps before I read his posts. The Mythos series is also nice....but I find it to be more of a HT speaker myself. So the Paradigms might just be the ticket.
Great system..either way!
Enjoy..

Congrads on the system. Nice going.
On a side note the LSI's don't have anything for the Mythos St's. They simply just can't compete in that class. The Lsi's are wonderful speakers I know all about them as I owned them for years. But they do not have any of the Dynamic force and power that the Mythos St's have for theater. They can't. Even the mighty Lsi25's will have a hard time keeping up with the Mythos St's and rightfully so. Big price difference Retail to retail. So it's even cool to have the Lsi's compete in there. I like both speakers for different reasons.
The Mythos St's are one of the only double duty speakers I have ever heard at there price class and to top it off the built in subs. They hit very hard and yet are very musical . It's such a fantastic speaker. I'm all in on the St's.
I gotta ask why you purchased Paradigms and what for? I see they are going to be used in some 2 channel / HT room? I didn't fully understand your post. What model? I'm a Paradigm dealer I know the entire line.

Congrats! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them. I'm considering the Mythos as my next HT speakers...but that mod is still several years away unfortunately. The nirvana inducer-

Um.....you SUCK!:p I heard the STS's last winter, for about 5 minutes......and I've been JONESING for a pr. ever since!
I bought a motorcycle as a distraction. It didn't work. I'm selling the bike, to buy a pr. of the STS's! And NOT for HT either-just music!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Dan,
I auditioned both the Mythos STS, LSi's, and the Paradigm Studio 100's and fell for all three. Fortunately, I wanted a system for downstairs entertainment in the family rooom and another system upstairs for a dedicated home theatre room. The Mythos were so dynamic and full, I thought they would be perfect for HT use and entertaining downstairs during parties and get togethers. However, I loved the added warmth of the Paradigms and the CC690 blew me away as a center, it added a lot more detail and life to the movies in comparison to the Mythos 9. So I decided to go with the Paradigms upstairs where the real project is going to be.
I think the Mythos with the SC-07 is all that will be required for great sound across the board, but it seems like the Paradigms are going to require much more power to get them to sing the way I want them to. I was also able to get a much better deal on the Paradigms than the LSi's, which was going to be the other alternate system. So now I am on the hunt for an amp to really drive them the way I recalled them during the demos and fiddle with the setup upstairs for a more dedicated HT room where DVD-A, concert series, and the like will be played for a more intimate crowd. ;o)
Any feedback regarding the Studio 100v5, CC690, and ADP590 would be greatly appreciated. I think I am out of the return timeline, so don't dash my hopes too much.
PS... sorry for the ramblings, but I have been working 60+ hrs a week, six days a week, on midnights for the last two months and the 4.5 hrs of sleep a day is finally getting to me.
