Our tax dollars hard at work............

Of all the waste in government, this is like a spec of sand on a giant beach. Insignificant.

Whatever, it's not like the president can just go to a movie whenever he wants like regular people. Doesn't bother me at all if the white house has one.

I'm not sure that I agree with the headline: White House Home Theater Reveals Laura Bush's Bordello Tastes. Red and burgundy colors are common in theaters AFIK, so she can't be faulted for that choice IMO. The gold trim adds a bit of extra class, so why fault her for that, either? I also like the design of those front row seats.

It all reveals quite good taste IMO! If it was bordello taste, maybe she would have added lights with red cloth draped over them, and red vinyl sofas, or something like that. The only bordellos I've seen the inside of were in the movies, so I suppose my knowledge of the subject is somewhat limited.

    Ugly colors

Laura Bush did that, and I think she did a great job. Especially compared to what was replaced. Bordello, shmordello. If they'd named it the William J. Clinton Romper Room, okay maybe.:D

Assuming you don't want black walls, I'm pretty sure dark colors like red are usually recommended for theater rooms, aren't they?

Also, let me retract my facetious statement "Our tax dollars hard at work............" and replace it with " A nice set-up for Mr & Mrs Prez".....that better?

This is one of the few things the government has spent money on which I agree with.

That's what I'm sayin'. The finance boards I sometimes visit would jsut point a finger at government spending.

Personally, I'm going to agree with the two voices that said 'it's not like he can pop into a regular theatre' and 'this is one way of government spending i can agree with'.

I''ve no love for any particular political party, but they can't do regular people things. And the red and gold isn't terribly flashy or over the top... I wouldn't want it in my house... But if my house was the White House...I think it's fine.
