What?! Everyone actually read the article?! Holy crap! Not a single "Look what Obama has done with our tax money" comment?!?
I love that about the Polk community; you guys regardless of political stance, actually read before speaking.

Whatever, it's not like the president can just go to a movie whenever he wants like regular people. Doesn't bother me at all if the white house has one.My Home Theater (WIP):

I'm not sure that I agree with the headline: White House Home Theater Reveals Laura Bush's Bordello Tastes. Red and burgundy colors are common in theaters AFIK, so she can't be faulted for that choice IMO. The gold trim adds a bit of extra class, so why fault her for that, either? I also like the design of those front row seats.
It all reveals quite good taste IMO! If it was bordello taste, maybe she would have added lights with red cloth draped over them, and red vinyl sofas, or something like that. The only bordellos I've seen the inside of were in the movies, so I suppose my knowledge of the subject is somewhat limited.Alea jacta est! -

Laura Bush did that, and I think she did a great job. Especially compared to what was replaced. Bordello, shmordello. If they'd named it the William J. Clinton Romper Room, okay maybe.:DCan't imagine how much went into the refurb, but one thing still stuck out like a sore thumb, THERE AREN'T ANY CUPHOLDERS!

Well, he didn't, did he? That's all been done by previous administrations. -
Assuming you don't want black walls, I'm pretty sure dark colors like red are usually recommended for theater rooms, aren't they?If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

agree with ya there Kex, I kinda like it.
Also, let me retract my facetious statement "Our tax dollars hard at work............" and replace it with " A nice set-up for Mr & Mrs Prez".....that better?Polk Audio Surround Bar 360

That's what I'm sayin'. The finance boards I sometimes visit would jsut point a finger at government spending.
Personally, I'm going to agree with the two voices that said 'it's not like he can pop into a regular theatre' and 'this is one way of government spending i can agree with'.
I''ve no love for any particular political party, but they can't do regular people things. And the red and gold isn't terribly flashy or over the top... I wouldn't want it in my house... But if my house was the White House...I think it's fine.
