    It's not a question of performance so much as rarity. "Exotic" cars tend to be cars you never see, and you see a lot of Corvettes around.

    How many of the 2009's ZR 1's have you seen?

    This one was my favorite!

    Jaguar XJ-220? I remember that from an older Need for Speed game.

    Yup , you do see alot of regular vettes but I bet they are not ZR-1's.

    A few ZR-1 stats

    * Standard 638-hp 6.2 Liter LS9 supercharged V8 engine
    * Massive Brembo® carbon ceramic brakes
    * 205-mph test-track top speed

    I'd be happy to take one off someones hands for a few laps.

    It is precisely about performance:eek:... This car bests everything that comes into it's path that costs even 5 times it's price. The ZR1 corvette is something you most likely will see once in a lifetime on the street, as its numbers will be about 1100 or so per year for three years, then it will be done. I think there are more Lambos out there than that all told. If I had the cash I would buy one just to drive for a couple days a year and store it. When I retire this car will surely be worth its weight in gold, if not platinum.;)
    The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Marantz MM7025 stereo amp. Simaudio Moon 680d DSD

    OK, fair enough, I guess I just meant that your average Joe walking through one of these events just sees a Corvette like the million they've seen before. Unless someone tells you "no, this is the ZR1, it's like a Corvette, but WAY AWESOMER" you'd never know. You don't get to drive it or even see it drive all-out. I'm not disparaging its ability to go fast, just its ability to sit in a parking lot and be impressive.

    These events are usually just so people can look at things that LOOK exotic, hence a Lambo or Ferrari, which is, compared to the cars most of us see every day, much more interesting to look at than a Corvette that looks like something that, even in New England, I see all the freakin' time.

    BTW, it's funny that if you Google "Exotic Car Drive for Charity Pics Malibu Sheriff", the top two (and only two) relevant hits are forum threads started by xjrguy, here and somewhere else.
    If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    What do you expect to find when you use the same/similar terms I used for the title of this thread? :confused:

    Google "SCECC sheriff run"

    Here, to dispel any conspiracy theories. Note, I did not start these threads.

    Bah? It wasn't a conspiracy theory, I'm just easily amused. I still find it funny when Polk threads come up as top hits in a Google search. I saw your pics, I didn't think you made them up.....
