So I'm going to install my amp in my trunk only to find out the pa1100.5 is too big unless I build a custom floorboard to mount it to (No thanks - guess I should have measured before I purchased it). That being said, anyone here have an opinion of the Alpine PDX-5? Also, I don't have enough posts but is there anyone interested in a BNIB pa1100.5? I bought it from a guy on C/L so there wouldn't be any warranty, but it's legit. His price was too good to pass up ($250!) Would like to get $225 for it if I could. Don't mean to jack my own threade but I can't post in the classifieds yet. Thanks all.

How small are you looking to go? I considered the alpines for my mr2 installation, but they were too pricy. I was able to get a blaupunkt tha 555 on ebay for $200 which provides just enough power for my 2 seater roadster.

Maybe you can look at Elf Audio micro amps 4125x or 2125x should be good enough to power your SR's then look out for a deal from fry's for a polk audio 1-channel amp (they're clearancing out at $99) for your sub. IIRC, these elf amps are identical to a higher priced arc audio mini amp. http://elfaudio.com/images/support/2008CatalogWeb.pdf

I bought a few pdx amps 2.150, 1.600, 4.100, and 1.1000, and each amp runs very clean. PDX amps will not disappoint in size or power, simply amazing amps.

You're using a pdx-5 to power sr6500 and an IDQ 10 sub and going active?
