Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

I think I was having the same distortion problems with my SDA-SRS2's .

After I replaced my interconnect sockets and bought a new cable from Polk cust.serv. the sound is incredible now!

I feel I have to turn the volume knob more than I ever had to before. I don't know if this part of having to drive them loud or not.

Dose anybody else have to turn their volume knob to 12:00 to play these big guys loud?

Okay, based on this info, I went and pulled my interconnect cable and applied DeoxIT Gold and reinserted it a few times and the results were great. I probably wouldn't believe it if someone told me this, but it did help a lot.

Anyone that has the SDA speakers needs to get the SACD Dark Side of The Moon and play it in 2 channel....You will get up and check all of your surround speakers and swear they are playing when they aren't. It is awesome!!

You need to look at the SDA list of members recomendation songs and cds. Alot of music is about to astound you. You'll be able to place musicians in a soundfield now. It's great!
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

It's been almost a month since I started this thread, and I've finally had time to get it sorted out. For the sake of anyone that may experience a similar situation, I wanted to post my findings.

In short, as several had suggested, the "problem" was amp related, i.e. not enough power. In the past couple of weeks, I have picked up dual Epik Sentinels, and a Rotel RB-1090 to power the 2.3TL's. Right now, I am bi-wiring the SDA's, and the sound for both the 2-channel and HT is magnificent. Plenty of headroom, balanced full-range at significant volume levels, and no noisy/popping drivers, or tweets cutting in and out. I did, by the way, replace the polyswitches that Polk was kind enough to send me at no charge.

Thanks again for everyones help. These 2.3TL's are definitely power hungry, but they really sing when they are well fed :)

I've been evaluating / calibrating with a variety of sources: CD, DVD, HD Cable, turntable, and even HD radio and ipod. I'm still tweeking, but the rig sounds really good within the limitations of each source. Half the battle with the HT sound is selecting the best decoder / mode on my AVR / Pre.

I don't care what the lights are telling you, it's clipping.

    I wouldn't steer you wrong.

Thanks again F1 - your advice is always appreciated and respected. The Rotel is a significant jump in power compared to the Adcom, and it seems to be ideal for the 2.3TL's. Now it's time to drop in RDO's and mod crossovers :D
