the instructions for option 1 are different between the one posted on the website and the manual that came with the unit.the manual says i should hook the rca into the lfe imput on the subwoofer with no reference to setting the lfe switch.which version is correct?

I would hook up all the speakers to the AVR and let it power them. Then use a subwoofer cable and hook up one end to the LFE IN on the back of your sub and hook the other end up to the Subwoofer Pre-Out on the back of your AVR. Then make sure you go into your AVR options and make sure the Subwoofer option is set to "On" "Yes" or "Present" or whatever may apply. Set the crossover on your fronts/mains to 80hz and you should be good. Good luck and welcome to Club Polk.

yep, what wutadumsn23 said. Also, make sure you are playing a source that has some good bass to check your system. Welcome.

actually it does seem kind of low.i was going to assume that it just "blends" well.the impact is so indirect im not sure now.i do get volume out of it for the deep lows with it set at -3db on the avr and full volume on the sub.it does blend very well with tsi200 fronts.but i dont seem to get enough volume from anything but deeep lows.

That is exactly what you want a sub to do. Nice little sub.

yes i am actually very pleased with it.it blends so well i dont care if its right or wrong.it is a solid, well built unit, with a very nice finish on it.it is compact and fit the space i had picked out for it perfectly.it made my 2.1 set up with tsi200's as the mains sound complete,no lack.its my first sub,i had !jbl 3 ways before for the last 11 years.so its been a while since ive upgraded or set anything up(so im not sure when i dont have something hooked up right).the set up i have is obviously no power house but the overall depth of the sound seems a little low.ive got an old jinx about setting stuff up anyway.

ive audited this little sub at futureshop and surprised how tight and articulate the bass is, im considering to get this sub because it produce the sound i want (i dont like boomy bass).
my question is how deep can this sub go? i enjoy the deep bass from movie scence as well. how do they compare to PSW10 in a mid sized living room?
(they r on sale right now 37% off the regular price $250 CDN, not very hot but not bad either)
this will be pairing up with RTI6 by the way.

the back of this sub gets extremely hot under normal use,is this normal?the sub is capable of the "movie boom" but thuds crunches and booms all kinda sound the same.it blends very well with music however there is a lack of definition for the bass.using it with an onkyo 607 it cannot play very loud,or there is a definite sense of a lack of power with it.

Just me but I would try turning the volume on the sub down a little and up some in the AVR.
