On a related note: How much does it suck having the day off on a Wednesday!

So you guys have today off up north there. Do you do anything special like fireworks or drink Canadian club soda all day?

Happy birthday to the origins of hockey!

That's right. 142nd. It did feel good having a day off on Wednesday but feels ackward coming back after a single day off. The joke/comment this morning: "This was a short weekend!". However, only 2 days to go before the weekend! There were lot's of people on parliement hill yesterday evening. Fireworks started at 10:30 pm I believe. As usual, this was also moving day in Quebec and on the news this morning they mentioned 20 families without a place to live (couldn't find any apartment).

    Cheers!

I forgot about the "Quebec offical moving date" never understood that rule!

We stay away from downtown, been there done that, never bought the T-shirt. Way too many people not to mention all the drunks and stoners. I have nothing against being drunk or stoned, it's just that people over do it and end up acting like douchbags, fighting. Now we stay home in the burbs where the only noise to be heard is the sound of everyone's AC humming and the occasional dog bark.

Not too bad actually, as I took Thursday and Friday off when I noticed months ago the stat fell on a Wednesday.

142 years, I just realized that I have a newspaper older than Canada...lol

I guess being a day off just made it logical to do the apartment moving around. I am glad I don't have to do that as it is a real nightmare. One of my coworker was wise enough to do his move the week prior to (St-Jean Baptiste) thus avoiding the craziness.

Same here, when the family was younger I would go for the fireworks and celebrate a little. Now, I feel too old and intolerant of masses which are acting a little too crazy for me and simply use that day to relax at home (music listening and/or good movie with relatives).

    A very wise/smart move!

    Cheers!
