Hello,

I accidentally dropped my son's polk speaker CS245i last Saturday and I am hoping someone could direct me or help me find a new grill for this speaker. Three out of the four post broke off so it does not stay tight to the speaker. Does anyone have a CS245i speaker grill for sale? I hope I do not have to purchase the whole speaker since the grill is the only thing broken. Please e-mail me any suggestions or where to purchase this grill to the following e-mail address.

Charlene, welcome to CP. Have you tried contacting Customer Service by e-mail, chat or telephone? They are excellent, and will be able to tell you if they have the grille in stock. Otherwise, using the speaker without the grille will not harm it in any way, as long as no prying fingers get onto the tweeter or main drivers (some even prefer them naked).

If none of that works out: well, that speaker is no longer made, but depending on your son's other speakers, especially the front two, it may not be as expensive as you think to get an equivalent replacement, and you could even get some of the cost back by selling the CS245i on eBay (or here) for about $50 or thereabouts.

Did anything else break, BTW? Dropping speakers is not a good idea, generally! Things come loose, like the magnets on the drivers ... not to mention dings ...
    Alea jacta est!
