    Wow! Great, great pics!

Didn't see any audio equipment there. Don't they have any there?

    Solid,

Awesome trip. So, was this a business deal, or more of a personal forray? Either way, it seems like you had a fun time. I've always loved the ornate detail found in the monuments, painting, and general structures in southeast Asia.

Well, the pics were taken on the weekend. During the week, however, I am here all on business. I won't be returning to the USA for another month. Hopefully my apartment will be in once piece, I have a rather large friend and his family living there until he finds a more permanent place when I return.

Yeah they actually have a great middle class here, so there is a good market for audio. I heard some top-of-the-line Usher speakers here with all MIT cables. I've also taken a heavy liking to some small Opera Speakers (the italians, not Consonance). They got all good stuff here that I have seen: Primare, Naim, Onkyo, Denon, MIT, Transcendent, Usher, Kef, tons and tons of small tube gear. And, of course, they have all the Taiwanese and Chinese brands, which sound surprisingly very good. I also heard that elusive SoundStage Integrated Tube Amp. It was seriously amazing sound for just a few hundred bucks. Overall, I like the Asian gear I am hearing. I think the real limitation in the shops here is the room size and setup. They got gear stacked up everywhere on display. Everyone does it, but it looks cluttered to me. Basically the shops are more or less one or two rooms and there is just nowhere to keep the inventory. I heard the best Floorstanders Usher makes in a room no bigger than a 12 X 10 closet. Surprisingly, they close listening was not that bad.

Very nice pics, Solid. I recommend crossing over to Singapore for a weekend trip, if you have not done it already. And then from there to Batam (Indonesia). If you like those viharas, a weekend trip to Bali would also be very fun trip. Air Asia has pretty good deal around this time, check Uluwatu for an experience of being surrounded by sneaky monkeys.

    Have fun in SEA!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Nice pics SS. Looks a lot like Thailand. +1 for taking every opportunity you can to travel around the area and surrounding countries.

Also sample as much of the food as you can, just taste it. If you like it, enjoy and never ask what it is.

Stay safe and a good return.

Stay safe and have fun. If you get the chance to try Tiger beer over in Singapore, DON'T!!! It's, without a doubt, the single NASTIEST tasting beer on the planet.

Looks like you went to Chinatown, as there were a lot of Chinese writing and buddhist worshipping. The predominant religion in Malaysia is Muslim.

Yeah I was in China town for a little bit there, but the other places were temples scattered about Kuala Lumpur. And, yes the predominant religion is Islam. But, there are still many "Chinese-looking" people around as well as shades of Indian. The predominant written language here is Malay followed very closely by English.

Haha, yes I have been good despite several nice brothels around my parts. Fortunately, my girlfriend is in Singapore and will be coming to visit Malaysia next week.

That visit should be interesting because the girl I am living with is a Secretary for the firm I am consulting with. I think she has taken a liking to me as she has been cooking my meals and making sure I my clothes have been washed. I have warned her my girlfriend is coming, but who knows what cat fight might erupt between women warring for a guy like me:rolleyes:

Thinking a bit more on the situation here, if alchohol wasn't so heavily taxed (being a Muslim country), I might be more apt to get into trouble.

The statuary and architecture looked Indian (i.e. Hindu) to me, but I'm no expert. The texture of those pics of the koi fish is amazing.
Lotta monkeys, eh? My daughter spent the last 2 summers in Northern India and said the monkeys were everywhere and invasive, grabby and obnoxious.

Yup the Batu caves are Hindu, but the architecture with the Chinese roofs and characters are clearly not.

The Monkeys are very curious with small people and little children. They never bothered me once, but I did see them chase a few kids and the girl I was with. They are afraid of most men. But some dominant males will throw down if you get near their food. One of them threw half a coconut shell at some girl who was walking buy some food it had gathered on the ground.
