center speaker

My center speaker works fine with tv and some dvd's. But when playing action movies, their seems to be a popping noise. It really isn't that loud. What to do?

    If you switch the wires between one of your front speakers and your center, does the problem stay with the speaker or stay with the channel?
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
    Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

    Could be a lot of things. Try what McLoki says and swap one of your fronts with the center and see what happens.

    Not knowing you system I would guess you are overdriving the center. I.E. not enough power from your amp to reproduce the sound at the level you are asking from your AVR.

    Or your center is set to large when it should not be.

    Please give us an idea of what is in your system.
