I pulled the trigger on the ones in Phoenix. The speakers currently belong to a man that is in a position for which he cannot have speakers anymore. He must give final approval to selling them. Once that happens tommorow, they will be packed up using heavy duty plastic, two layers of 1" foam insulation sheeting on the sides three layers on topand bottom. They will then be encased in three layers of heavy duty cardboard. The sub radiators will be pulled and shipped separately so as to protect the drivers. I expect that I will be listening to them in my home within 10 days!:)

Good call, John! Are you getting them shipped via Freight? I think you should ask the seller to wrap it around in a couple of moving blanket (or large bubble wraps or some kind of plastic) before covering in the insulation foams. Just a thought.

they get a plastic wrap first, and I am fully expecting to have to do a bit of refinishing...
I am insuring them for 2k as well, and will photograph every step of the unpacking job when they get here so I have proof as to how they were packed.

There is a set on the 'Gon now for 2400.00, so I guess I am doing ok on these...

I don't get this mentality. With the passive pulled, the mid-drivers are free to travel their full extension meaning there are going to be popping in and out like crazy and that's not a good thing. With the passive in place the mid-drivers travel is limited, which is what you want.

Not to mention that the chances of the passives getting lost in shipping is vastly increased.

he has not confirmed anything yet and has not accepted payment. with the way the conversation was left, there was no solid commitment yet as he is still awaiting approval to sell. He really does not want the headach of shipping them anyway...
