Hey all.

Just wanted to pop in and say HI. My name's Matt and I'm from Pittsburgh. I just was given a set of beautiful Polk Monitor 5B's (which sound incredible) from my grandmother-in-law and they've turned me into an instant audio buff.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and possibly get some guidance here and there as I continue to add to my stereo system.

Thanks,

Matt P

    Welcome.

It starts with 5B's, then 10's, then SDA's. After that you start to wonder if the newer line of speakers is better...pretty soon you're like me and have Polks in 5 rooms in the house. And it's awesome!!!!

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I can see that the addiction has already started. In the 3 weeks that I've had these speakers now, I've already purchased a 1978 Pioneer SA7700 Int. Amp to pull a little more power out of the speakers and just 2 days ago I replaced my Onkyo HT-R520 home theater reciever with a similar Onkyo TX-DS777 so I could use the pre-amp outputs!! I'm also working on a deal for a Polk CS350ls center and Monitor 4 Series 2's for my surround speakers.

Hopefully I'll be content enough with things after all of that is done... at least for a while :-)

It can stop at 5B's with the right back end. Welcome to Club Polk, from a fellow Steelers fan.

    Welcome to the Club!

One thing you should know (and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet): be careful to avoid Comfortablycurt! He's been known to just randomly send a PM with a huge pic of his hairy bare a$$ to newcomers if he determines that they have nice gear that he would like to own. I think it's an attempt to catch them off guard so that they agree to sell him stuff he wants cheap ! Kind of like stunning them first, and while they're still dazed, send them a low offer in a following PM.

    plus 1 on that...:D

If you get the assless chaps one really look out! You also need to beware of Keiko sending you pics of her wearing next to nothing. She knows she's hot and uses that to get you to buy her all kinds of pretty things...
