With what you have spent on amplification, I would start looking at getting some good floorstanding speakers for your fronts. I have a similar avr (power wise) and I definatley can get the wow factor. That said, I am looking in the near future to get another set of speakers and a power amp for two channel.

olilugo that is a great looking cabinet! I had a setup close to yours years ago and I'm here to second or third the opinion about get those speakers out of the box. While it makes a very clean install, as you notice the sound does not match the look.

If you get them out and experiment a bit, you may get the sparkle it seems your looking for. Do you mind if I ask what type of speaker wire your using? I tried a set which removed the sparkle like a wet blanket.

Then again, you may be outgrowing your speakers and desire more......whatever. I personally do not think your speakers have to cost more than the rest of your gear. My speakers were 1/3 of the cost of electronics and I still don't think I've topped them out yet. Cost is a big factor in any purchase, but please don't get hung up on thinking you HAVE to spend big. If you find a speaker that sounds good to you and it is within your budget, then you found the right speaker!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the kind words. My cables are signal cables analog two's for the IC and ultra for the speakers.

I notice you have a very nice setup and that you have change some of your components.

I am going to use this weekend to play around with my setup and see what else can I do to improve what I already have. After all if I don't account for my time playing, it is all free and I might even learn something new.

    Thanks for the encouragement.

No, I'm not having a bad day, but I apologize for being harsh. It just makes me a little crazy to see speakers so confined.

You guys are to blame for that. I have heard so much about WAF & them not wanting ANY evidence of having a HT system in plain view that when I see something like what's above all I can see is some shrew standing over poor Olilugo yelling HIDE THEM, HIDE THEM, HIDE THEM!

Until I joined this forum, I thought that if Bose could make such small speakers that could as good as mine, good for them! Then I learned & HEARD better!:D

I also have to thank you for the tough love :-).
sometimes is it hard to hear the thruth but at the end I have to deal with it. so I appreciate to honesty.

I keep on saying... I wish I knew then what I know now.

Or better yet, live and learnd.

I am taking the weekend to experiment with the main and center speaker at ear level and in different possitions as everyone have kindly sugguested.

I do have to say my wife will not be a happy camper... but hopefully I will show her that having them away from inside the cabinet is the way to go.

If she get to upset I will use that to see if I can upgrade... he he he ... win-win situation here.

you know I have seen this speakers but I am in the minimalist camp. the SDA's are too big for my setup, but thanks for the suguestion.

If I start looking I will probably go with floor standings but in a midium size cabinet much in line with the B&W 803s. I like the size of these speakers.

You've got PLENTY of room for a decent size floor speaker there. You could probably even get a finish that will be close to your entertainment center. Give it a shot! It won't look bad at all, and if your wife complains, well...... Let me know. I'll give you a picture of my bedroom so she can see how bad it REALLY can be. ;)

I'm glad I didn't hurt your feelings Olilugo. I just want you to get the BEST out of the outstanding system you have put together.

Believe you me, I have had quite a few of "I wish I knew then what I know now" moments. Such is life.

Good luck with your experimenting for good sound & with the wife!;):D
