I like the way they have the woofers mounted.

It's pretty amazing how well that takes care of cancelling out the vibrations from one another.

Very interesting though I'm undecided about the hi tech looks.Being a KEF I bet it sounds excellent. They have apparentlly refined the UNI-Q mid -tweet concept further which should give it outstanding imaging and coherence.

Looks like a speaker the F1 industry would have designed.

Very cool. I would love to hear a pair.

I agree. The use of carbon fiber is awesome for looks as well as strength. Carbon fiber ain't real cheap right now either. That's not wet lay. That is autoclave perfection carbon. Vacuum sealed to -60psi and baked at 350 degrees. Pure goodness! I love it. A lot of stuff would be so much better and cooler if the F1 industry made it:D

Some models can be bright. Otherwise, they usually throw a good soundstage and image well.

My speakers use the same method albeit smaller woofers. KEf speakers IMO have some the cleanest treble

KEF speakers do have great treble I agree and I always liked how clean my Q70s sounded. As far as the design goes, it does look pretty cool, and the are pretty tall! I'm not sure about the use of carbon fiber as it is a highly resonant material, but coupled with the balsa wood looks live a very interesting combination.

They are going to cost too much to be able to compete with speakers at their price range.

I don't have a link but KEF already has a flagship design that IIRC has an MRSP of $100,000.

edit.here it is.http://www2.kef.com/gb/loudspeakers/muon/muonA bit fugly IMO but it's the performance that counts.

KEF is an amazing speaker line. Ask B&W, they took KEF"S design and made it there own, you could see it in all of their 800 series line.

    hehehe,

well the write up did say no aesthetic restrictions---think there is a dingus hole??????? I suppose any untethered research and development has to be a good thing.

I still see these uber dollar type speakers and components being released, looks like those that got the dough for them still do.

They are pretty, and I'm a sucker for the high gloss black finish on my KEF KHT3005 sub/sat system, but LOL @ the whale flippers comment... on second glance, I see it.

Looks to be a very interesting design though.
