Man i am so friggin pissed off. I keep bidding to get a good deal on audio and loosing at the last moment every time. Right then i just got outbid on a csi5 . The guy that won it has like a million stars for his rating. What pisses me off most is that you know these a**holes arent gona take it home and cherish it .What they do is sell it on for more money and another great audio deal gets lost by the people who need it most I hope the guy turns on that csi5 and it bursts into flames and horribly disfigures his face for the rest of his life

Ya know...there is a possibility that these people are going to use and enjoy these speakers.

I don't know why exactly you think they're going to resell them for a profit...

You've gotta hone your ebay sniping skills. It's a useful talent to have.;)

It's their money, If they won it they can do what they want with it.

I understand your frustration, but this is true.

well if some1 has like a million ebay stars then you know theres a high probability that they are just gona beef up the price and sell it on. It totaly was a sniper that got it because i was like bidding all week and fantasizing about doing the mash potatoe with the awsome sound from the csi5 and BANG at one minute left my comp froze and i reset thinking for sure i'd give my pay pal details and it was gone baby gone

I don't know how having a high rating means that they're going to resell it...regardless, it's their money to do as they wish.

A minute before it ends isn't good enough. I always get my last bid in when there's about 6-7 seconds left.

Wow glad he didnt something really bad to you. What kind of punishment does he deserve if he outbids you twice?

In all honesty I get outbid on 98% or so of the items that I bid on for a couple reasons one is unless its something I really want I wont bid what its actually worth because I want a great deal, no faut of anyones but myself for not bidding higher. Im sure everytime some poor soul puts up something for auction and it doesnt bring close to what the average sales have been he feels like he got screwed, so it goes both ways.

My only advice is dont get too worked up if you get outbid on something it happens a lot if your not willing to pay retail value.

Get a sniping program and bid at the last few seconds thats pretty much the only way your going to win if you want to get something cheap, and a lot of times it wont work anyways because once again someone is willing to pay more.

How would you feel if the guy you outbid on a item felt like you should suffer a permanant disfiguring injury because you outbid him? :D

Never bid on anything until there's about 15 seconds left, and bid what you would be happy paying.

That's what I do. Bidding before then is pointless.

Which means it has no warranty. If you want to buy on ebay, go the Polk Direct route. There you KNOW what you are getting and chances are it will be every bit as good as what you were bidding on, not much more $ (if at all) and it has a warranty.

It's pointless to even bid that early in most auctions, unless there's a reserve. All you're doing by bidding in the days before the auctions end, is jacking the price up higher. I never even make a bid on anything until within the last 15 seconds or so of an auction.

Just get one from Polk Direct. You won't have a warranty if you're not buying it from an authorized dealer. Polk's refurbs are top notch. I've never heard any complaints about them. They nearly always show up in brand new condition.

Agreed. Considering that with free shipping it will be almost the same price as you would have payed if you had bought the other one and had to pay for shipping + no one has to burn in a fire :p

Happens to me all the time, and it can be fustrating. I lost out on a turntabel a month ago by 2.50 on a bid that came with just 5 seconds left. But I just moved on to the next one that came up and it now sits in my rack, cheaper than the one I lost out on. Don't sweat the little stuff as there will always be something else out there.

I do this all the time on Ebay. It's called sniping. I use a program called bid sniper that does it automatically for me so I don't have to be sitting in front of the computer to press the button at just the right time. Go for it snipe yourself some good stuff. You just set your highest price you are willing to pay and then if you win good....if not oh well.

I rarely bid on stuff until the last second. Just like you didn't know that guy was waiting in the wings, I don't like people to know I'm there ready to bid. That way they let their guard down thinking they won it.

Here's what I use. I usually set it at about 6 seconds to go.

Many other people use this or a similar program so it's still hit and miss. Don't get discouraged. You'll nail some good stuff.

I decide what whatever I'm bidding on is worth to me and put a snipe bid at that price. More often than not I lose, but that's the game.

Someone pointed out to me once that if you win an auction on ebay you're willing to pay more for it than anyone else in the world.

Here is the deal. If you want it and you are going to bid on it. Just simply put in the maximum amount you want to pay. If it sells for more than you wanted to pay its no big deal. Its easy to get into a bidding war with someone and end up paying lots more than you really wanted to spend in the first place. Besides, some sellers will actually have a friend bid against you or bid against you themselves. Be careful and pay only the amount you feel comfortable with.
