Where are you pushing, the driver, amp, cabinet?

i just push the center of the sub. it seems like it is a connection inside of the sub because when you push it in far enough it starts working but when you let it go it stops. and if i turn it up to the volume i usually listen to and push the sub in it will work and stay working. almost like once the sub gets moving a lot the connection stays but if i turn it down it stops then i gotta give it a push again

Sounds like the sub is blown. When you push on it, it pushes the working part of the coil back into the field and it works. When you let go it no longer resides in the magnetic field.

It's either that or part of the coil has come lose. Same effect in the end - replace the driver.

For the same reason I already stated....

The higher volume is creating a larger magnetic force combined with the rebound of the subwoofer...it's already in motion. It's like like pushing a car to start it. If you push it hard enough it'll go...
