Bummer, looks like I'll have to build a jig and go back after this thing. I tried already by shimming with the voice coil in place. Thought I had it and glued everything up only to find after pulling the shims that the coil drags. Now I need to remove the epoxy from both sides (outside, never separated) of the magnet before I try again . Any tips there? Do you glue both top and bottom sides of the magnet? My other bad driver shows 0 resistance, so there's a broken winding I suspect - repairable? I know I could just buy replacements from Polk, but I'm trying to keep these as a "thrift" purchase. Plus, I'm enjoying the journey! Thanks.

I JB Weld everything six ways from Sun. only after free/correct movement is established. No shims, no way , uh uh ! Shims are for fruiting around with cone/surround positioning.

Hey I just picked a pair of Monitor 5B with one frozen MW-6502. Are you still interested in these? I am also in need of a working 6502.

I've never messed with that MW before. Why don't you fix it and reinstall ? It's really not rocket surgery or brain science.
