Is Polk working on something new?

Just wondering what the next "big" thing from Polk will be. They have so many technologies and patents, would be interesting to see what they're working on right now. A new technology/design to increase fidelity, new SDA, new LSi?
It was nice to see pics of Matt's prototype LSi/SDA in his home but wonder if they had thought about making SDA's again.
It's been a while since Polk took that big step forward with the introduction of the LSi line. I know there is the soundbar, new series of subs and those new towers (forgot model), but I'm thinking something new for 2ch.

I am sure they are working on something, but unsure what that is. They still hold the patent for SDA, but I would suspect (with no proof whatsoever) that it was Matt Polks passion to try and bring it back - Not Polk the companies.... (I could be very mistaken on that point though)
Rest assured that they are working on something you have not heard yet though....
MichaelMains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)

I am really hoping Polk would come up with the next level of LSi, that way I can upgrade up without dismantling the rest of my 7.1 LSis setup. Just the front.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Maybe they will wait for the economy to bounce back before releasing new stuff?

Wut,
No, I meant the VM series. I'm not even sure where the TSi fit in. Are they suppose to be the new Monitor line?
LOL:D:D I sure hope they don't start selling LSD:D:D -

Ahhh, my bad. The TSi line as far as I can tell is either a temp. replacement or possibly a re-designed Monitor line. The specs on the two lines are very similar, the few cosmetic changes to the TSi line would be the only way to tell them apart. I have heard good things about them, but I love my Monitor 70's and 40's.HT Rig

That's true the TSI is the Monitor replacement though Polk vehemently 'denied' that the Monitors were being discontinued when the TSI first appeared?
I do think the cosmetic alterations to the M series will sell more of the TSIs; they look nice--and they too look a bit like Def Techs???
As for the VM series. What's up with that? Def Tech is selling their Mythos like candy...and the VM series is eerily similar to the Mythos MINUS the race track powered sub and passive rads? Which, evidently blow the VM out of the water...so should Polk 'rethink' its VMs? Did it fall behind Def Tech on that design! Where's Mantis when you need him?

Wouldn't that be "holucinagenic" imaging. Not only do you hear the singers and musicians where they were on the sound stage but now you also see them ... or something form the far reaches of your psyche ... then somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly, A girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, Towering over your head. Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes, And she's gone.
Sorry I'm back now, I got lost for a moment.Stan

There's a bunch of stuff but I'm not sure what the timetable is on each one.
Lemme guess, its designed around HT, or you could have them shut me up by releasing something nice for 2-channel.
I got a feeling I will be yaking for quite a while. At the fest Matt mentioned it may be time to upgrade the LSi but since he is gone I am not holding my breath. Polk seems to be focused on cashing in on HT products, not a bad thing, just not my primary thing.

cool, and remember I am a full figured, equal opportunity audio snob.......but I am calling tops.......
I think Polk might want to consider a 2-channel u-tube ad with Brett dancing to his rig singing that new Nickelback song about something looking better when..........
RT1 -
RT1,
What do you mean Matt's gone? Did he retire or something?:( -
Company got sold to def tech I think. He probably cashed in and checked out. I could be wrong though, don't hang me.
-
Oh man, I had no idea that happened. If Matt is not part of the company anymore, I doubt we'll see new SDA.
-
Its really so you can see the sounds and hear the colors-dig it?
not to mention ,smell the color,, and hear them as well.;)
and,, smell the sound.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut) -
The two channel thing is dead. My next project is an SDA in wall setup for the bedroom. unobtrusive, but SDA none the less. Maybe it can fly for Polk? Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com.
