I have an older Caver amp that is running my speakers (RTI10's) but I do not think they are getting the power they should. My question is - is there a way to check to see how much power the carver is pushing to the speakers. I forget the model off hand but it is suppose to be 200wpc at 8omhs.

Knowing the model will help. Why, if you don't mind me asking, are you questioning the output power?

Does it hum through the speakers when the source is turned all the way down?

The amp is model M-1.0t and should push 200wpc, it is bi-amped with my denon avr-988. Together they should puch 310wpc to the front left and right speaker. The problem is that when I bi-amp the denon using the sur-backs at only 220wpc the sound stage is bigger and the bass is tighter, this is why I want to know if I can find out how much power the carver is truly pushing to the speakers.

The M1.0t should power that speaker with no issues whatsoever just by itself. I'm questioning how you have it hooked up right now. Try, if you will, just hooking the M1.0t up to the speakers. That should solve your issues.....unless there is something wrong with the amplifier.

The M1.0t has an EXTREMELY conservative rating. Probably more on the order of 350 wpc in actuality.
