Hook up LR surr. or LR back?

Two questions. I have a 7 channel receiver but only have room for a 5.1 set-up. The 2 Surr/Back speakers will have to be as far back from the listening area as the front and center speakers. When I connect the Surr./Back speakers should I connect them to the LR Surr. or the LR Back channel? I currently have TSi300's in front cs10 for center and PSW111 subwoofer. Anyone have an opinion on whether I should use TSi100's or OWM3's for my surround speakers?

Welcome. For 5.1 use L/R surround. What AVR are you using?

Thanks Pauly,
I'm using the Yamaha RX-V565. Any opinion on the speakers? -
id use the 100's in the back since they are matched with the 300's. You COULD use the OWM3's for surround backs if you want to go 7.1 in the future.
Good luck

Hi and welcome to the forum. I believe that if you put the speakers in the back, you would use the L/R Back connections vs the L/R Surrounds. Typically in a 5.1 situation, the surrounds go on the side. It might make a diference as to how they sound since the amp may process the signal differently based on where it is being projected from.____________________________________________________________

No, you'd just use the regular surround outputs. The AVR's calibration will compensate for the placement of the speakers.
If you're running a 5.1 setup, there is no difference in how the surround channels are decoded, there's only one pair of surrounds, and only one way for them to be decoded. The nirvana inducer-
