Can I increase subwoofer input signal?

I am having trouble driving my Polk DSW Micropro 1000 due to a low pre-out signal from my Musical Fidelity A1 integrated. I'm using the L/R line inputs on the sub. Essentially, even with the sub at full power my SPL levels are only 65 - 70 db. So I am wondering how I could increase the pre-out signal strength? Can I use a pre-amp line driver such as this?

Any other options for getting a better signal to my sub?

I had this issue once and these are the things that worked for me. My receiver had only 1 RCA preout for my sub and my sub had 2 RCA input jacks. I bought an RCA Y adapter and ran my sub cable from my receiver into this and then the Y adapter into the sub. When connecting both to the sub you get about a +3db boost to the signal (I read this somewhere when I was looking for a solution). I also tried boosting the gain for the sub in the settings menu. You may want to try another sub cable as well to see if that helps. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am almost coming to the conclusion that the music I listen to doesn't have much deep bass so there is only so much a sub can do for me. I did get a little more volume from increasing the crossover setting.
