Hi guys, well here I am asking for your help and expertise yet again.

The problem: BD turns off each time I press play.
1.) Hooked up to Elite VSX 03 (in sig.).
a.) The amp also turns off, maybe that is the prob?
2.) Started happening after using new Logitech 820 remote.
a.) Reset all settings, no help.
3.) Also happens with all 3 remotes; original BD, original amp, and the new Logitech.
a.) When I press "play", the BD player shuts off, along with the amp. Sometimes the BD player will power up again, and sometimes not.
b.) When using the original BD remote, the exact same thing happens.

Is there a way to reset the BD player?

Have tried everything I know. I have looked at some of the FAQs for these items, but nothing beats real help from you guys. So, please don't refer me back.

I am just baffled by this.

Thanks for your help guys,
Matt :)

I would almost guarantee it is the Harmony remote. I have never had any luck with those things. But try to use the system (BD 51) with the supplied remotes and see what happens. If there are still problems it may be a faulty remote or player. If it works, it is probably the Harmony.

Wait, lol, I see you have tried the original remotes. I think there is something wrong with the player if no remote works at all. Or maybe the Harmony did something to the infrared signal in the player and it "thinks" it is doing something else. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I think you will have to talk to Pioneer on this one.

    Factory Reset:

    1. Turn it on.
    2. Make sure there is no disc loaded.
    3. Press and hold "stop", press STANDBY/ON.

I would also make sure the "HDMI Control" is set to off in setup menu.

That's my next move. But, I wanted to get opinions to see if it was actually Pio., or maybe the remote.
    Good call, thanks, Matt

Ahh, yes! I just read the last post, and now see that you were both on target. I have to turn the HDMI control to "off" for this bad boy.
I will post follow up when I get a chance.

    Thanks, Matt

Yeah, this is confusing, but I think that the HDMI control should be turned to "off" as I just read through the helpful responses here, which suggest to do just that.
I do think this stinkin' harmony remote is schizophrenic though, lol! :) It does some crazy stuff.
    Thanks, Matt

Thanks so much! I was just reading your post, and , a light bulb went on. I was so confused, because that doesn't happen very often with me, lol. You and sherardp hit the nail on the head with the HDMI "control" issue.
I will also try to reset the factory reset.
    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks again,
    Matt
