Do larger speakers sound better ?

They both sound good when well set up. A pair of Dynaudio Confidence C1 monitors and a REL or JL sub was very tempting at one point.
There is just something that says "MAN" with a large pair of speakers and no, I'm not trying to compensate for anything

Ok so would it be better to invest in Rti a1's instead of the monitor 60's to replace the tsi100's ?TV- Samsung 24" LCD T240HD

Sorry man, we got distracted with our normal banter. What kind of music do you listen too and usually how loud?~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Dan, you may be asking a fine line question with the gear you have. The monitor60 will give you more of what you have mentioned you are looking for, however your power may be inadequate for what you want to accomplish. "There is no replacement for displacement" is a common phrase and does not lie. That said, you may get these speakers and have no more than a slight increase of bass or enveloping sound due to the lack of adequate power needed to properly amplify them.
The TSi100's are a bookshelf that will give you clear, precise sound but would be more suited toward jazz, classical or surround duty to bring out it's best. If you have an office rig, a dorm room or similarly small area to listen, this would be great as you already know. For a small to medium sized room, the Monitor60's will better fill the gap with your choice of rock and R&B which both carry a good amount of bass as compared to a lot of jazz or classical.
Back when I was in your shoes, I knew not which direction to go as well and I completely understand where you are at. That said, if I was in your shoes again and I knew what I know now on your budget, I would go for the Monitor60's and enjoy the added benefits until I could afford better amplification. I hope this helps in your decision making and I wish you the best of luck in your audio journey.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Thanks treitz3, i think i will go with the monitor 60's, i checked my receiver and it says it's 50 watts per channel, does that seem like enough for the 60's or should i plan on getting something better ?TV- Samsung 24" LCD T240HD
