My parents want me to help them put a HT in their new house. They want a 50-53" RP HDTV widescreen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks- Greg

Pioneer elite HD-PRO530 (53")I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

It's a $5k unit, with street price of $4k. With the budget that they have, I would go with Mitsubishi 50" Rear-Projection HDTV Monitor, VS-A50.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

the mits 55 unit is around 2k
WS-55311
they make great units for the price. and if you want you can drop about 400 for a isf calabraton and it wil make it liik even beter. -
Sounds like the Mits is the way to go. Thanks guys!
Ganzo- Still working on some $ for your SW, I'll keep you posted.AVR: Yamaha RX-V661

if Pioneer Elite is out of the price point then Mitsubishi is the way to go.You can't find a better set at there price point. They rule the market there.
vote for MitsubishiDan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
np it is just sitting and waiting for a good home.

I also vote for Mitsubishi. I own the 46 inch 46809 HDTV and couldn't be happier. No problems so far (owned over a year).
The Mitsubishi's have a narrower "sweet spot" for viewing than some of the other models; but once you're there you will be impressed.
You should be able to find a Mits under $2k if you shop around.
I was also impressed with the picture on the Panasonic models but ultimately chose Mitsubishi based on the value, reputation, and awesome picture. -
I've been happy with my 51" Hitachi. Got it about a month and a half ago.
