Thats a lot of metal poles coming down....looks like the special teams coach got the worst of it with some broken vertebrae...luckily he wasnt paralyzed and its repairable. They were all very lucky....The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club

It is....the sound of rain pelting the tent-like structure can drown out conversation. No matter the noise, safety rarely was an issueuntil Saturday.
Wind that was just shy of tornado strength, and perhaps stronger, ripped through the roof during a rookie minicamp practice, essentially popping the so-called bubble. Between the falling debris and the furor to get out, special teams coach Joe DeCamillis broke his back and 11 more people were hospitalized....
...Just before the facility was flattened, wind was clocked at 64 mph, a single mph shy of the threshold for a weak tornado. However, National Weather Service meteorologist Gary Woodall said a microburst may have pushed the wind beyond 70 mph at the top of the structure. A microburst also was to blame for a 1985 Delta Airlines crash at nearby DFW airport that killed 137 people....
A similar event happened to the Eagles one year in a hurricane but only a couple of assistant coaches and some maintenance people were in the structure when it came down and no one was injured.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

holy crap. Seeing the lights moving like that was sign number 1 they should've stopped practice. Hind sight is always 20/20 though. Glad no one was killed though.

Is their new stadium finnished in Arlington?

I believe Arlington is done......and they were morons for staying in that thing when every one of those lights was swinging the way they were.......
I don't know what form of logic would compel someone to think that when a crazy storm is brewing, their safety isn't questioned when they're in a vinyl tent........comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Terrible. I saw it on the news last night. Glad to see no one was killed.

Well, this is a drag.
From CNN:A Dallas Cowboys scouting assistant suffered a broken back and has been permanently paralyzed after the collapse of the team's practice canopy during a heavy thunderstorm, the Cowboys announced Sunday.
Rich Behm, 33, was one of three Cowboys staffers seriously hurt when the storm struck their practice facility Saturday afternoon.
Behm's spinal cord was severed by a fractured vertebrae, paralyzing him from the waist down, the team said in a written statement.

There's some damning evidence on that video that the coaches/trainers should've made the call to get the hell out of that thing.
If I was a player, I would've said "forget this, I'll see you guys back at the locker room"Ludicrous gibs! -
The thing is that storms like that are not rare at all this time of year in Texas. I'm sure that ceiling was swaying at previous time because NO ONE seemed concerned at all, not even the camera man. Not until stuff started falling did anyone get concerned. But the dome was built for exactly what they were doing, practicing in the rain without getting wet.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
