strange twist of fate

Ok, so I am now the owner of the ez as pie speakers. I really like two-way
speakers. I've got them hooked up, and found that the front ports needed
to be foam plugged to work in my room. The foam makes the low end and
mids work well in the room, but the top end is a bit hot.
So now comes the strange part.
The wife hates them to no end. Not a surprize. There's a classic two way speaker ,
the ProAC Studio 125 that just came in to a local shop on trade.
She's quite willing to let me get the ProAC's if I get rid of the Pies.
A. What do the Polkies think of ProAC?
B. What to do with the "offending" Pies?
I'm most likely going to make someone a hell of a deal on the ez as pies.
I've seen the set of 125's but haven't listened yet. I'm going to see
my favorite sales guy Byron to get him to drop them on a 50 wpc tube
system for a demo. If these pass muster, I'm cleaning house. I got some
decent electronics, and these speakers are priced RIGHT. It's time to
stop **** around with little sideways jumps. The Hales are currently
the best in the house right now. IF they were the two's instead of the
one's (floorstanders instead of bookshelves) I'd already be done. They need
just a bit more low end. Perfect mid's and treble. Accurate bass up to the
point they peter out. And all the info on ProAC says the 125's are the
speaker that will get the job done.

The ProAc's will simply amaze you with their sonic performance. The Studio 100 model was my first introduction to ProAc back in the '80's. The dealer paired them with a B&K pre & ST140 amp...sonic nirvana. They dazzled me with sonic bliss for years. To this day I still swear that another pair of ProAc's will grace my listening room. They don't come cheap...but that's to be expected for world class performance. Do yourself & your wife a favor & give them a listen. You won't be disapointed!!!"2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

Different. British sound. Lots of lows and mids, Pretty good highs.
I'm gonna need a bigger room:D
So how here needs a pair of ez as pies?"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

Congratulations! Just from Pearsall's description, and the fact that he's a fellow Nadder, I would have done the same in your situation.Alea jacta est!
