Subwoofer feedback

I have an RM6750. I love it but every once in a while I'll get feedback from the subwoofer, even when it's not in use. What could be causing it?

are you running an rca to connect it to the reciever? If so, one of the connectors could be damaged or there might be a short where the rca plugs into the sub. I had this happen to me and it when away with a new cable. could also be just a loose connection as well. Good luck and welcome to CPThe Gear... I'm using a Dynex Subwoofer cable. I checked the connections, which were fine, and even switched the cable around, but still have the same problem. Could it just be the cable?

Switching it off works, of course, but then I'll lose the bass if it's in use e.g. watching a movie, listening to music. Some times it happens in the middle of the night after I've gone to sleep.Sounds like a loud constant bass note.

it sounds like the cable is bad

I realize this is an old thread, but I just started having the same problem with my sub as oledesma7 did. The only difference is that I've unplugged the sub from the receiver, and the only thing that's connected is the power cable. It was fine the night before, and when I woke up I can hear a loud low rumbling/humming sound coming from the sub.
So I don't think it's the RCA cable. Could it be something inside the sub causing this? From anyone's experience, does this sound like something I can open up and fix myself, or do I need to send it in for repair. Or maybe it just needs to be replaced?
Thanks for any input.
