Well pretty much all the regulars know I have two girls. A lot of the time I want to post things about funny or cute things they do, but I start enough threads as it is. I do love when JD posts pics, or Steve shows a new member, but I would like to have a PF thread opposed to a CP thread. It really is Polk Family here, and I do love to hear from many of the friends/members here about our family. I think that Club Polk is way above being just another forum on the internet. I also think it would be beneficial to new members to understand this. Prayer requests or just showing off in one thread would be very nice IMHO.
Thanks
Ben

I can dig it! I've made several new friends on this here forum. It is nice to see and hear how other members families are doing. New babies on the way, vacations, got a new car, stuff like that.
    I'm all for it.

OK I'll get the ball rolling. The other day I found a box turtle. I figured I would show it to Ashley and let it go. Well 6 or so days latter she thinks we are going to keep it. Guess what. Daddy is studying on how to keep said turtle. I tried to explain the turtle would be happier running free, but Ash thinks it would be happy with us. It is a friendly turtle. It does love to have it's head petted, but I wish I could just let it go. I want to teach her about nature and animals, but it is hard.

Thanks. Ash was wanting me to build an outside cage for "Great Turtle Blue", and I was thinking of telling her that "Great Turtle Blue" jumped the fence;)
As much as I am into eating wild life I do feel wild animals should not be kept.

I just went through the turtle thing with my two girls earlier in the week. They found one at Lincoln park and decided to bring it home. Note to others, "90% of turtles have Salmonella." Wash up real good and keep fingers away from noses/mouths or you may have more problems. There are apparently two types of food, one for veg eaters and one for meat eaters.

A few pics of my family and a little about us. My wife and I met when we were teenagers (12 & 14) through mutual friends. We hung out a few times then we did not see each other again until we were in our early 20's. I was a manager at a deli and she bought some food. We have been together since 1992 and the rest is history. My son is 14 and my daughter is 12 and are both very outgoing. My daughter is a vegetarian and is a very active young lady. She enjoys cheerleading, photography, and hanging out with her friends. She is an animal lover and she wants to save the world. My son was a page for the General Assembly this year and enojoyed it alot (plus he got to see his Grandfather every day there). He also likes almost any physical outdoor activity as well as video games. My son is in 8th grade but all the classes he takes are at 10th grade level or higher. He was chosen at his school by the Principal and Apple to do a tech demo with a movie he made. The Apple store set him up with all kinds of goodies after he was finished. My wife works at a doctors office. She went to school to be a paralegal but hated it. Now she works helping people which is a perfect fit for her. She has a very special quality that draws others to her when they need help, advice, or a shoulder to cry on. She has the patience of a Saint. I am a very physical guy and I am in the fitness and security fields. I do personal training (for free mostly these days.....just trying to help others help themselves), and security. I do security for the music venues around Richmond,VIPs,and private functions. We are a very close family that comes together at the end of the day and shares about that days events and happenings. Imo, nothing beats sitting down to a home cooked meal with your loved ones and sharing good conversation. Well, I could go on and on but this little peak into our lives should suffice.

I'm the seventh son of a seventh son. Born in darkness and raised in fire. My mother was a jackyl who lactated olive juice every St Hallow's Eve. My father, The Nameless, devours the harvest moon each millenium - only to return for each of my little league games. We're close like that.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Forgive me father for I have sinned. I'm at fault and I should go straight to hell. But on the way can I stop and get some SPF-2,000,000; I'm a little worried I may get skin cancer or something? Seriously though, my son was trying to get my FIL to laugh by tickling him. Right after the pic he busted out laughing. Then my son was going around getting everyone. In the pic where he is cracking up he just finished trying to get Wayne but little did he know that he's not even a little ticklish. That day was Thanksgiving and there were around 25 of us total. I think my son got bored with the whole tickling idea after about the 5th person though.

On the subject of turtles, while fishing off a dock last summer my 8yr old daughter hooked a rather large snapping turtle. Her and her sisters screaming and hollering as it came to the surface was deafening,I think every cottage within a mile heard them.Thankfully the line broke as its front feet reached the dock. They will always remember the look of that thing.

We had some big snappers up north. I popped one with a 30-06. I tried to retrieve it with an oar from the row boat, but while lifting it the oar snapped and we almost took a drink. The turtle sank.
No soup for you is all I heard:)
Snappers scare me. You do not want to test their jaws!

Apparently this sbnapper hangs out by that dock often so my girls are leery about swimming and playing around there.I'm not sure if it poses a threat or not.

Low vis water and snappers is scary. I would kill it. I know I kid a lot, but like I said snappers scare me. A milk jug, steel shark leader, serious off shore shark hook, and a piece of chicken will get it.

Thanks Ben. I just may show up at your door one day with my M10s in hand to do some mods (with notice and approval of course). From what I know you are the goto guy for internal mods and you are handy with making things (reveneering my 10s). Of course it would take more than one day so I would need you to point me in the right direction for a hotel. Maybe by the end of summer I can take a few days and make this happen. Whatever you needed as compensation for helping and showing me what to do would be in order as well. Just let me know.:D

It's just a beater, something to drive around. Heavy car, lots of break dust, way too much work to clean them every weekend. They are clean now though, don't worry... :)
