Question for the experts...Am I getting all of the Watts that Im paying for from my AMP? I've been told by some that certain AVR's wont allow a amp to send out all of its watts. Is that true in my case???
Thanks

    Hello,
The only problem I could see would be with the available output voltage of the pre-amp section, of the H-K, might not be sufficient to drive the power amp to full output. Look at the input sensitivity, of the amplifier, it should be 1.5 Volts or maybe 2.0 Volts. Then see if you can tell what the output capability of the pre-amp section of the receiver. As long as the output voltage is at least close to the input sensitivity you should be fine.

Have you looked at weather you have good power from the wall. A low voltage can cause a system to sound weak. A power conditioner would help if you find that to be a problem.

Though most AVR's power rating can be confusing. Some say all channels driven and some say two or even one channel driven. From what I found most AVR's never power speakers as well as an external amp. Now if you go out and buy a top of the line $2000 to $3000 avr that might not be the case but the HK's that I have had and others that I have heard sound okay but I don't think the power is there.

    Hello,
That is the input sensitivity of the H-K not the Emotiva, you want to look at its specifications.
From looking at the H-K information they don't indicate what their pre-amp output is. You might have to call H-K to find that.

    Edit: just read your post.
The HK has more than enough to get max power out of your EMO.
