We used to put signs on our saws, "Be kind to the next guy, Please remove all body parts when finished."

My scariest tool is my shaper ( oversized table router) with a bigass 6 " raised-panel bit on it. When that bit spins up, it sounds like an airplane and scared hell out of me every time for fear that thing would just torque right off into space.
Actually, putting a raised-panel or big 1 1/2" roundover bit on a 3hp router will inspire the same fear of God.

I always wanted a shaper, but could not justfy buying it for the amount of times I'd use it. Instead, I compromised by making a boss table for my router. Shapers/router on tables when running are practically daring you to put your hand or finger too close!

Funny, I never thought sawalls as being that dangerous. I checked out my son on them when he was 13 ... after training him how to use a drill w/a clutch when he was 12. He got trained how to use the the table and chop/miter saws when he was 14 and the electric handsaw when he was 15 (along with the chainsaw). He got to use the router when he turned 17.

The closest call I ever had with a sawall was the time I hit a hidden 120 Volt live line.
