...by the WAY. The pic shows 3 different approaches to the "ART" of audio. The Maggies......planer, the Allison II's....just beautiful sound ..v distribution, and of course the SDA's.

The Allison's were designed to be placed against a wall...."No Chance" in my cave. Never got to hear them at their best. Great bass and nice mid and upper..."AIR"

The SDA's need to be straight ahead...."No Chance" in my setup. All around great sound...too big a sound for my setup.

The MG 1's aren't the BEST ....but what it DOES....it does.

...i bought my Maggies (MG 1's) rebuilt. The crossovers were rebuilt or modded....but there is ample amount of tight bass. A big surprise. Not all that low....but TIGHT. The Dahlaquist M907's have much better LOW tight bass and a good air about them....but hard to compare because they both need same room placement. My ears and brain are too old to retain audio during transition. Figure I need to give the Maggies at least 1 year as mains.

I wish I had an extra $300.00 laying around. I have been planning to buy the 2B's for awhile for my entry into SDA's. I happen to becoming that way to pick up a pair of Horns pretty soon also. Which makes them very tempting.

Oh well. I'll get some one day...

    Good luck on your sale.

I think the SDA 2A came with darker veneer. The lighter veneer was 2B, I think.

.....They are 2 B Studios.....they have the "PIN and Blade"....from my understanding P&B were only used on the "B's".

With as many different "transitional" models that Polk had they could be SDA 2A/Bs.:D It took 6 months to determine which I had at one point. BobMcg finally looked up the serial numbers.

    I thought so also.

Btw, studio versions are black, so maybe yours is some sort of hybrid?

You could also pull the drivers and check their model numbers to confirm they're 2B's.

    ...according to BlueMDPicker:

"2B Studio was made in oak grained vinyl as well."

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26474

    ...the NEVER ENDING story continues.

By the way.....the light OAK vinyl is the nicest grain pattern I have seen on speakers....compared to The older dark walnut vinyl .

The only way to tell is to pull one of the mid's. Polk made some transisional speakers using up old parts for newer model speakers. It could be 2a or 2b.
