Lightning turned my subs on?

I have 2 DSW 600PRO subs hooked to my Elite receiver... The subs are switched to turn themselves on and off when they receive an audio signal...We are having a major lightning and thunder storm. This is the loudest thunder I have ever heard to where it's actual frightning. It's shaking my sofa. As I sat here, with a major lightning strike... MY SUBS TURNED THEMSELVES ON!
My receiver is not powered up.
IS THIS POSSIBLE?

yep, static charge went through your lines and your subs saw it as a signal to turn on, its happened to me too.

I turn off all my gear during storms, and unplug the power conditioners. Better safe than sorry.

I received a reply email From Ken @ Polk. Ken said that a sudden increase in air pressure in a room can make them turn on, too. The sudden pressure increase makes the woofer move in and out, setting off the sensor. And let me tell you, The boomers I experienced this morning were incredible. Not only excessively loud, but I could feel the compression against my body.
