This is very exciting news guys as we are just getting the 1/4lb and double 1/4lb burgers for the first time here in Japan. I think I'll have to try one just to see if there is a difference. Nothing much to see here just thought it was cool.:D

With all of the good food in Japan you want McD's?! I love the food over there.

I hope that the burgers in Japan tast better than Taiwan. They weren't the same as in the good ol' USA. I had an egg Mcmuffin, though and it was exactly the same. Yumm...

    Sherardp,

Are you kidding? They haven't had that in Japan ALL these years? How many years since McDs arrived in Japan. I bet, DECADES? I've been to China and they were all over the place there by the early 90s if not before. Pretty sure they had the quarters on the menu. Though I must admit when I was there in the 80s, one of the first things I did when I crossed over to Hong Kong (not then a part of China)...was to get myself a BK Whopper--6 months of all Chinese was GREAT. But as Mantis points out, I was missing the homeland a bit? So I can identify--I returned after 2 weeks in Hong Kong for another half-year in the PRC. Landed at JFK and immediately drove to a Greek Diner in Jersey where I ordered most things on the menu and was 'sick' the next day?

I'm being serious, they are just now getting the quarters. Not that I eat McDs allot just find it strange that it has taken so long to get here. I do miss the motherland(USA) as I tend to chowdown when I'm back there and have no preference for anything of the Asian Cuisine. I admit there's some very good food out here in Japan but you know often times you will crave a big steak or some awesome Maryland crabcakes or other things. Everything in Japan is expensive, that seems to be the kicker.

Hmmm...personally I spent 11 days in China. Ate only authentic Chinese food...and yes, I ate the "bug" and snake skin stuff. Never got sick either, until I ate an American burger over there, and promptly threw up that evening. I guess they didn't know how to make an American burger.
