I'm really toying with doing it in Fayetteville, NC as that's where my stuff is going to be but I could go either way on this.

    More details to follow..

They are on the East Coast because lately, aside from some hooligans in Texas and Indiana, the East Coasters are the only ones that step up. If you step up and have a 'fest, you get to say when and where it is, within reason of course.

good idea, I think the new guys should have a fest just for themselves, you could get those little tables and chairs, you know the kiddie ones like at family events, then when you learn the club secret handshake and other stuff we know but never say you will be almost ready for the big table (not the couch though, especially the SDA couch) dont even think of sitting there for a few years and you need some special glasses for that anyway.

then you might practice giving each other pedicure's and cutting off each others body hair, never know when that might come in handy. also, one lucky newb gets to participate as the piece of fruit in the lemon/lime sumo competition.

so you have a lot to do, better get cracking as soon as you can.

How do you folks decide what kind of gear will be at Polkfest? Just curious.

I'll give you a hint. If you mention Bose? You will not even learn of the location. If you know the location beforehand? The police will escort you out as soon as you arrive and donkey slap you before your arrest for being just plain stupid.

It really depends on the gear at the host location, the time and interest. That little ol' PM feature works wonders to the host. ;)

Since Troy is a bit busy, I will answer. The host has the gear, if the host needs or wants something then he sends out the call, generally via pm, there is just no way to have a bunch of gear getting switched in and out, we know from past results that sooner or later something gets ruined, no offense to anyone but just too many polkie hands on things. Troy is a very laid back host, easy going and throws a heck of a shin-dig. Although there is always some high quality stuff to hear its much more about the club and members having fun than a gear comparison type of thing.

Would someone that is able to attend be kind enough to get my crossover covers signed by Mr. Polk for me?

I doubt Mr. Polk will be there. Maybe Al or a couple of the other guys (and maybe even the lovely Monica if we are lucky)...but Matt doesn't get to the "informal" Polk Fests outside MD. But hey...now that he's retired maybe he will decide to show up to one of the "REAL" PFs.

He is certainly welcome if he would like to come!

That's not written in stone Sal.....if they're so inclined to do a HQ tour, they'll do it, but it's not something that should be expected.......PF's started in the realm of members homes.

    Yes I was there......I won a set of VM30's and a sub....

I've been to PF's in 2008, 2006, 2005, and 2004.......My point isn't the frequency that they have happened at HQ........it's that to blanket state that Polk is going to do them every 3 years is wrong......as is expecting that they continue to do them...
