The US has huge untapped reserves in Crude and NG... the tree huggers have really pinched the development plus at this point in time its actually cheaper to import rather than develop new fields. I saw a show that suggested that if the price per barrel would exceed ~ 50 bucks, "Check Numbers but used more as an example", a barrel then development of new fields can be justified.

IMHO we should import as much as possible and burn up there reserves and save ours for the future.

Ok, even if what you said made sense, how do you expect people to take what you have to say seriously, when you use 3rd grade equivalent grammer?

Dick is a very smart man and I am glad he is on our side.

Grammer, punctuation and spelling have nothing to do with IQ and the validity of a persons comment. I meen that frm da heart!

That WAS part of my point. How you write is a direct reflection on a person's intelligence, whether people like it or not. It's one thing to use some slang, and some shorthand for internet purposes, but when you have to read something 3 times because it's so poorly written, it's uncalled for.

No, Bush is the President because of ELECTORAL VOTES. I am not going to sit here and explain to you the reason for this, because I don't think you would understand.
Take the time to research it if you like.
As a comparison, you can't expect to play a football game, and lose, then whine about the rules of the game afterwards, saying 'I should have WON, because the rules are UNFAIR'.
That just makes a person a whiner, which is what Gore, and everyone who says this is.

This is at least, the second personal remark you have posted in this thread. They add nothing to a debate. Personal attacks in a monitored debate cost you points.
I join with Shack in requesting that you cease.

The debate of the pros and cons of the Electoral College has ebbed and flowed since Kennedy-Nixon. The 2000 Presidential election is simply the latest occurrence to revive this debate, and many great minds have joined it. Could it be that Joe was simply referring to this debate?
BTW, guess which party was viewed as “the Whiners” in 1960.

As for getting what Joe meant in his first post you quoted, its meaning was clear to me on the first read. While I do not believe this to be an indication of our relative intelligence levels, I do believe it is a reflection of the objectivity with which we read posts that appear to reflect views that differ from ours.

And FYI in your reply, you misspelled grammar.

I've boycotted that list for years.

If this impending war isn't about oil, then why have I heard various politicians say that they would claim some oil as "the spoils of war" with "a percentage of the proceeds going back to the Iraqi people in a sort of trust fund". If it's not about oil then I would think the French proposal of adding more inspectors and allowing more time would be better received.

With North Korea saying things like "There will be a sea of fire." and "We can attack any American interest at any time.", and their history, I think we should refocus as to what the most immediate threats are and how to best solve each issue.

Don't get me wrong. I honestly think the time to act militarily will happen. When it does we should act forcefully and decisively. I just don't think that time is now.

    Hi:

Respect your post, but I heard a good reply to your oil question today. If we wanted oil from Iraq they would gladly sell or give us all we wanted in return for us turning our head on their deceit.

Korea is only rattling it's swords, which can't be really taken seriously. They know what would happen to them if they even tried any action against us. I don't think they are a concern right now. We will get to them in due time.

I really think Saddam had something to do with 911 as payback for the Gulf War. He has the means and contacts to carry that out. I think the muslems are the world problem now and need to be dealt with hard and fast. There is something bad wrong with people that believe in a mentally deranged man like Mohammed, and be willing to strap a bomb on their back and blow themselves up along with women and children. As someone once said, "they are two sandwiches short of a picnic." And some of them don't even have a basket.

    Stay safe.

    >French proposal< When was the last time France was a world power?
What does Rhode Island have to say about sending over a few fire inspectors?

    >inspectors and time< will not accomplish what the U.N. set out to do.

    >Korea is only rattling its swords,< It’s just using perfect timing to there advantage. Soon we will give them what ever it is they really want, then we will be done with it for a few more years.

    Hi:

The Moslem sect came from the son Abraham has with Sarai's cocubine Hagar. His name was Ishmael and Hagar and Ishmael were banished. The Moslems came from him.Ge 16:3 I have copied the verses for you. It doesn't say in the bible, but theologists will tell you that Moslems came from Ishmael.
    Genesis 16:1 thru 21:16
Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had
dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her
husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and
she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's
maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And Hagar bare
Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

Go there and read the whole story for yourself. Tha Muslim religion is the most damnable thing ever let into this country, and if you live long enough you will find out that what I say is true. They don't even believe in the samd God we do but have a different concept of what God is.
