Glad to hear (read-LOL) that you are happy with the new cart . I have always felt that the technics tables are under rated. The convenience of the detachable headshell is something you may not appreciate until that convenience is gone .
Smart, incremental upgrades are the way to go for those of us on a budget . Also, if you change too much at once and do not like the results ,it is possible that you won't know what link in the chain is producing the undesirable effects.
Again , so glad that this has worked out for you. The SL1300 is a solid table and I'm also glad you could extract more from it with the Denon cart and outboard phono stage.

Hooking up my friends Parasound ZPhono made as big a difference as going from the Shure to the Denon. I was bidding on a Zphono that got away from me. I like the sound of the Parasound but this is the only Phono stage I have listened too except the Denon AVR which is not anywhere as nice sounding as the ZPhono.
Hear's my dilemma, The ZPhono and Cambridge Azur 640P are close in price, have you listened to both and have an opinion on the sound differences ?
I do like the fact that the ZPhono does not have a wallwart.
Since it looks like I will be buying new or open box I would like some opinions.
