The people, the traffic, the bums, the charity people on every corner...gets tiresome. Especially riding the trains.

Then I go to lunch at a place like DiBruno Brothers and I can't help but think iit's all worth it!

Today, a Mamma Mia! Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes and broccoli rabe on a nice Italian roll and then shoved in a sammich grill and pressed flat and grilled until the edges of the Prosciutto are crisp and the mozzarella is oozing out the sides and browning nicely on the edges! Add some bagel chips and a nice cup of coffee and yeah, culinary heaven for about $12!

John might I suggest you go to Chickies (sp) on 9th & Federal. Their vegie hoagie & Italian tuna hoagies are to die for.

As much as I miss real guido food, I'm still not ready to trade it for:

SIX months of snow & ice
    Traffic
    Political corruption
    OUTRAGEOUS taxes
    Inflated real estate prices
    MORE traffic
    MORE snow & ice
And retail sales people with the customer service skills of a MORTICIAN!

Did I forget anything? No? GOOD!
That's what ya get for taunting me with REAL food! Bastahds!
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

9th and Federal is a hell of a walk from 15th and Market just for lunch. But I know where the place you speak of is but if I'm walkin' that far for lunch, I'm going another half a block to Geno's or Pat's.

Yeah, Joe's is good. The crust on a brick oven pizza is quite unique.

I do my best not to drive in the city so the PPA doesn't bother me. I actually take delight in seeing the people who run afoul of the PPA get all caddywumpus over it.

But just because I'm a mere pedestrian doesn't mean I don't have to deal with traffic. I've been hit by side mirrors of cars while I was crossing with my light, legally having the right away by someone making an illegal turn on red. I've also come close to being run down in a crosswalk because someone wasn't paying attention and was following a truck in front of them far too closely. Traffic sucks.

    Dude ,
when you get time, stop in at 10th and Cathrine in the Morning Glory. It's on the corner. They have some awesome Banana Pancakes. They also have this Egg dish it's a south Philly thing, ask about it, it's amazing. The food and people are worth the trip.
