NAD 317 soft clipping LED remains lit

Hi,
I have a NAD 317 integrated amp, that has been working flawlessly for 6 years. A few weeks ago, however, the amp refused to go out of "soft clipping" mode when I turned the power on. The amp had not been used for loud music, so that shouldn't be the trigger of this.
Does anyone know what cause this symptom could be related to and if it's easily fixable?
Also, I'm thinking about buying a used NAD 214 as a replacement (I wasn't using the pre-amp in the 317 anyway).. However, that is a US version with a power rating of 120V and I live in Europe with 220V.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to enable support for 220V? I read on a different forum that it was possible for a different NAD amp just by switching 2 wires inside the case.
Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about the 317 but the soft clippng feature on my old 3020 was engaged or disengaged with a switch on the rear panel.Testing
