My Setup (with pics)
Hey guys,
It's been a little while since I've joined this forum, and my setup has definitely gone through some changes. After going through a couple months of moving some pieces around, I think I've found a setup that I'll definitely stick to for a while. Here is a before pic, and then current some current pics of the setup. I must say I'm glad I went with Polk! Enjoy!
First setup attempt (RTi10's, CSi5 <not pictured>, BIC H100, Onkyo SR705, Denon POA-2200):

Nice setup. Have you thought of putting the sub in the corner and pulling those speakers out from the wall. Give it a try.Michael

Thanks guys!
Ender... yes it does. A very expensive scratching post
janmike: unfortunately if i move the tv any more left, it'll be completely off center from my couch. it's not the most ideal placement, but the living room i'm in right now doesn't allow me to be very precise with my placement =\

Just move the speakers out a foot and put the box sub in the far right corner. The TV should not have to move. Just a thought.Michael

That's not possible! Polk Audio speakers lack dynamics, and sound quite boring.

Have your fun while you can jackass.
Don't use that tone with me. This forum started it with me. I can't help the fact that I have forgotten more about audio than 99.999999% of audiophiles on the planet.

I really liked the Acoustech for the money. It played really loud and rumbles very well for home theater. It just didn't have quite the low extension that I wanted. It's also a bit boomy, but you can't really expect much more from a sub of that price

Hey Caligula, this one's the PC12-NSD. The PC13-Ultra would be much taller than this one. I think for the room of this size it's more than enough heh

How to you like the rti a5's compared to the rti 10's ?
I liked both the rti10 and the rti a5. However, I do feel that the RTi A5's pack a bit more mid bass punch. The 10's are the more rounded speaker and if it's a music setup, it would perform very well. However, since I'm mostly home theater, the A5's are undoubtedly better for me. Combined with a nice sub, they really give you big sound.

Just watched Master and Commander on Bluray tonight... and let me say WOW! That first battle scene where the Acheron shoots at the Surprise let out a deep rumble throughout the entire room. Bass was so nice and clean. The entire movie was a great showcase for the PC12-NSD.
Let me say that if you're looking for a great sub for around $600, look no further.

PB10-NSD is a very good sub. The steal is the 20-39 for only $250. SVS transfers warranties but not sure how old this one is (didn't read the entire posting). I believe the PB10-NSD is only $399 at svsound.com right now so that $365 price isn't super attractive. It extends down to 20hz and is a very respectable sub especially for the price.

$399 shipped? He's offering $340 shipped if you look at his last post. I think it's a decent deal. Especially if he's paying for shipping of such a huge thing.SDA 1C, SDA 2A, SDA SRS 2, CMT-340SE, Swan M200MKII, Swan D1080MKII, Behringer MS40

Well done Menasor! You've come a long long way on your audio journey in a very short space of time.
I agree, the H100 is a fantastic sub for first time buyers that want to make sure they will get a totally convincing LFE experience for movies for a bargain price. I would not recommend it for music, but then I'm not even sure I'd recommend my own sealed subwoofer for music either.
Now ... try and enjoy it for a decent while before you get the "itch" again, or you might mess it all up and spend a whole lot more for limited improvement!Alea jacta est!
